At 28, I consider myself a young and very attractive girl. For as long as I can remember, I was plump, but I was never ashamed of myself. During pregnancy, I focused on proper nutrition and routine and, as a result, after giving birth I was able to lose weight. The extra pounds have been replaced by a new problem - loose skin on the abdomen. Despite the fact that caring for a newborn takes a lot of time, I still found a way to solve the problem of sagging skin. I want to share 9 methods that I tried on myself. Let me make a reservation right away - all methods are good in combination, but individually they are not very effective.
To tighten my stomach, I first revised my diet
It is important to include in your daily diet those foods that will nourish your skin as efficiently as possible. Only if the skin receives the proper amount of the “right” proteins, fats and carbohydrates can you count on its rapid tightening. It is important to maintain the correct balance of all the main elements. Since I was a nursing mother when I started struggling with sagging belly, it was important for me that the dietary recommendations did not conflict with the nutritional advice for a pregnant woman.
I turned to a nutritionist with questions about proper nutrition. It turned out that the advice is quite simple. They concern each element separately.
- Squirrels. You can and should eat proteins of both animal and plant origin (poultry, meat, fish, legumes, etc.). It is important to consume no more than the recommended amount - up to 2 grams per kilogram of weight. And this is not for one meal, but the daily norm.
- Fats. It is better to give preference to fats of vegetable origin. I chose extra virgin olive oil, which is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. The daily norm is about 30 grams. (not less).
- Carbohydrates. The diet should include mainly complex carbohydrates, for example, whole wheat flour, raw vegetables, cereals, etc. I used fruits and honey as simple carbohydrates.
The variety of food pleased me so much that I got my husband hooked on such food. My tummy began to tighten, and he clearly showed progress in losing weight (the “beer” belly began to go away).
How to remove folds on your stomach
Before you start fighting unattractive folds on your stomach, you need to find out the reason for their appearance. They can appear from an excess of subcutaneous fat as a result of gaining excess weight, they can be weakened abdominal muscles in the absence of fat deposits, or they can simply be stretched skin as a result of pregnancy. If you have extra pounds, the best solution to start fighting wrinkles is to organize proper nutrition.
To strengthen your abdominal muscles, you need to resort to physical exercise. And wraps will help make stretched skin more elastic. But in any case, the most correct option would be an integrated approach - regular training while maintaining a balanced diet, as well as additional wraps will bring much greater results.
How to tighten your skin after losing weight
In addition to the above methods of caring for the epidermis, the use of peelings and scrubs is very effective. They can be applied to all problem areas of the body. It is easy to prepare the following compositions at home:
- Salt scrub. The easiest way to care for your body is to add medium-sized sea salt to your shower gel and rub your skin well.
- Pumpkin. You will need 0.5 tsp. pumpkin pulp, the same amount of ground cinnamon, 0.5 cups of coconut oil, 5 drops of vitamin E and 1 cup of brown sugar.
- Lactic. How to tighten sagging skin after losing weight using this scrub? Add 1 tbsp to the crushed flakes. warm milk, 2 drops of citrus essential oil, 1 tsp. soda
On the stomach
A tight tummy does not like simple carbohydrates. His choice is seaweed, red fish, fresh berries, fruits and vegetables. On foot
The best way to tighten your thighs and lower legs is through exercise. Squats, plies, lunges with weights, and leg press will help you with this. The bathhouse and sauna do a good job. Active steaming cleanses the epidermis and makes it elastic. A good method of dealing with sagging skin on the legs is salt baths. Dedicate half an hour to this procedure, and then rub the problem areas well with a hard washcloth.
On the buttocks
Try these skin tightening methods at home:
- Cupping massage is very effective for the buttocks.
- You will have a beautiful butt if you regularly run, walk up the stairs, and ride a bike.
- Vinegar, mustard, and clay wraps will remove sagging epidermis and have a lifting effect.
How to tighten your stomach in the gym
Some women prefer to go to the gym. This is good discipline - after all, it becomes a pity when a purchased subscription disappears, and the atmosphere in the gym is special, giving strength for training. In a sports club you can exercise in the same way as at home, or you can connect special exercise equipment.
So, on the way to an ideal tummy, it is not enough to just pump up your abs - the muscles will strengthen, but hide under the fat layer. And in order to get rid of subcutaneous fat in the waist area, you need to lose weight in general, because there is no local weight loss. The most useful exercise for weight loss is cardio training. Not everyone can afford to have an exercise bike or treadmill at home, so in this case, the solution to the problem is to visit the gym. Perform the workout in the correct sequence.
Warm-up
Within 10-15 minutes, perform a few simple exercises that will help prepare your body for training:
- Tilt your head in different directions, rotate your head.
- Lateral tilts of the body.
- Rotations of the shoulders, forearms, hands.
- Twisting the body, rotating the pelvis.
- Stretching the back muscles with hands clasped behind the back.
- Raising the knees to the level of the pelvis.

Abdominal bench
To perform bench exercises:
- Set the bench angle to about 30-40 degrees.
- Lie head down with your arms crossed over your chest.
- Slowly raise your shoulders and head, then your back, working only with your abdominal muscles.

Leg raises with emphasis on elbows
Leg raises can also be done while hanging, holding the bar above your head with your hands. Make sure that your legs do not swing, but rise with the help of your abdominal muscles.
How to do it:
- Secure yourself on the machine, resting your back on the pillow and your elbows on the bar.
- Raise your legs bent at the knees, trying to reach your chest with them.

Fitball
A fitball will help pump up your abs with minimal stress on the musculoskeletal system. At the same time, when working on the ball, you will use many other muscles, as you will constantly be under tension to maintain balance. You need to choose the right ball size that matches your height - while sitting on it, your legs should be parallel to the floor. By doing the following few exercises, you will achieve results pretty quickly.
Exercise 1 (twisting). At first, do this exercise in 2 sets of 10 times, then you can increase the repetitions a little:
- Sit on the ball with your arms crossed over your chest.
- Move the ball under your back, moving your legs.
- Slowly raise your shoulders.
Exercise 2 (butt lift). Do not bend the lumbar region, force only the abdominal muscles to work:
- Lie on the floor, secure the ball between your ankles, straighten your legs.
- Place your hands behind your head and hold on to the support.
- Raise your buttocks above the floor for a few seconds;
Exercise 3 (ball rollback). Don't arch your spine:
- Get on your knees and hold the ball with your hands.
- Roll the ball forward until you feel tension in your abdominal muscles;
Exercise 4 (lateral bends). Make sure that your elbows are spread out to the sides and your body is not leaning forward or backward:
- Lie on the ball sideways, with your feet on the floor near the wall, and your hands behind your head.
- Lift your torso sideways up as far as you can.
- Return to starting position;
Exercise 5 (pelvic lift). When you raise your legs, the angle of their bend does not change, the movement occurs only with the help of the pelvis:
- Lie on your back, bend your legs 90 degrees, hold the ball between your feet, and place your hands under your back, palms down.
- Pull your knees toward your chest, lifting your pelvis.
- Return to the starting position without touching the ball to the floor.

Disc "Grace"
The special “Grace” disc is easy to use. It is also worth purchasing for home workouts. However, there are some contraindications for exercising with this device: you should not use it if you have existing problems with the spine; it is not recommended for people over 50 years old, as well as for pregnant women. If nothing is stopping you, feel free to start practicing. Spend about 3 minutes on each exercise.
Exercise 1 (to strengthen the oblique muscles of the press and back):
- Place a chair nearby.
- Stand on the disc, holding onto the chair with your hands.
- Rotate to the sides alternately. The body remains motionless.
Exercise 2 (no need for a chair):
- Stand on the disk and squat down a little.
- Lean forward a little.
- Spin on the disc in different directions one by one, while swinging your arms in the opposite direction.
Exercise 3:
- Now sit on the disk, bend your legs so that your feet rest on the floor.
- Take lateral steps with your feet while rotating the disc.
- After several movements to the left, move to the right and back.

Proper drinking regimen to help my tummy
Even adjusting to eating was not as difficult as forcing myself to drink the right amount of water. The daily norm is at least two liters. The bottom line is that when you start to feel thirsty, it's already a sign of dehydration. It is important to avoid moments when you feel thirsty and pour water into yourself regularly.
There is one more nuance. 2 liters is pure water without gases; all other liquid that enters the body in the form of soups and juices does not count.
In addition, when drinking a cup of tea, you should add another cup equal to the volume of tea drunk to the recommended daily two liters of water. For a cup of coffee you will need to add two cups of water to the same 2 liters. Natural juices can be drunk only diluted with water 50 to 50 (it is better to give preference to juices without sugar).
Special food
To increase the elasticity of skin tissue, it is necessary to properly organize nutrition, increasing the consumption of products that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
It is necessary to maintain a balance of proteins and carbohydrates in your diet. Proteins tone the epidermal tissue well. The daily protein intake should be 1-2 g per 1 kg of body weight. Fish and seafood, eggs, cottage cheese, legumes and cereals are rich in proteins.
Fats increase skin elasticity. Preference should be given to fats of vegetable origin. They are added to porridges and salads. The daily norm is 30 g of fat. Fatty acids are contained in various nuts, but in this case we must not forget about their calorie content. It is strictly forbidden to consume margarine and mayonnaise containing heavy fats.
To fuel the body with energy, it is necessary to consume difficult-to-digest carbohydrates, which are found in vegetables, bran bread, durum wheat pasta, and cereals. Light carbohydrates are best consumed in the form of fruits and dried fruits, honey.
To supply the body with collagen and stimulate its own production, the following products are very useful: salmon fish, seaweed, turkey meat, vegetables and herbs, fruits, berries. Fish and seafood are rich in omega acids necessary for the regeneration and hydration of skin cells.
In order to prevent premature skin aging and improve metabolic processes, you need to include foods containing antioxidants in your diet: beans, various berries (cranberries, currants, strawberries), prunes, apples, pink potatoes and other vegetables. The menu must contain foods rich in vitamins A, C, B, E, and folic acid.
Flabbiness of the skin also indicates a lack of moisture in the cells. In order to maintain the water balance of epidermal tissues, it is recommended to consume a large amount of liquid, up to 2 liters per day. It is better if it is simple mineral water without gas, perhaps with the addition of lemon juice.

I found information about them on English-language resources. I was pleasantly surprised that we also sell specialized creams and scrubs. Initially, I tried treatments in a beauty salon. I was promised that the wraps would work wonders. Thanks to the fact that you can buy the products in the store and do the wraps yourself, you can save money and make your skin more elastic.
Now my procedures with cosmetics are carried out for prevention (this definitely won’t make things worse). I do this - first I use a scrub, then I do a wrap and at the end I apply a special cream.
Self-massage of the abdomen
Abdominal lifting with massage is very effective and useful. At the same time, blood circulation in the skin improves, stimulating nutrition and regeneration of epidermal cells. By increasing the temperature of the skin area during rubbing, fat deposits in the subcutaneous layers are reduced. To massage the abdomen yourself, you can use rubbing with a hard towel, various special massagers, or massage by pinching skin folds.

I started healthy habits and my sagging belly began to go away gradually!
To tighten your skin, it is very good to get into the habit of:
- taking a contrast shower;
- rubbing the flabby area with ice cubes (I made ice cubes with the addition of essential oils and citrus juices);
- quitting smoking;
- minimum alcohol consumption;
- minimum time spent in the sun.
The latter was especially difficult for me, since I am a sunbather. But, as they say, a beautiful tummy is more important than a bronze tan with saggy skin. When taking a contrast shower, direct intense jets of water to problem areas (I directed not only to the area of the sagging belly, but also to the upper part of the arms, where the skin also sagged).
What exercises and movements are best to avoid?
Twisting, squats, torso twists, planks, leg lifts from a lying position and holding them suspended are not recommended for diastasis.
Exercises to work the transverse press and to align and strengthen the core and pelvic floor muscles can be performed at any stage of diastasis development. If you do a lot of crunches or pump your abs, then most likely the sprain condition will worsen and the stomach will take on the characteristic “dome” shape. This is an example when the muscles were worked hard, but in the wrong direction. You won't be able to completely restore them to their previous position or pump them up, but you can restore strength, stability, and improve the appearance of your belly.
Exercises
In order to tighten the skin on the abdomen at home, you need to regularly perform a set of exercises. It is recommended to warm up before starting your workout. An effective way to tighten the skin on your stomach is to stand on your tiptoes and lift your whole body. It is also recommended to twist the hoop and bend the body to the sides.
Exercises to tighten the abdominal skin:
- Get on all fours, tighten your abdominal muscles. Straighten your left arm and right leg at the same time so that they form a right angle with each other. Return to the starting position and repeat the exercises with your right arm and left leg. Repeat the exercise 15 times in 3 sets.

Take the ball with both hands, straighten your body and, while jumping, straighten your arms above your head, throwing the ball. Repeat the exercise 15-20 times in 3 approaches.
- Get on all fours, arching your back and lowering your head. Hold for 10 seconds, exhale and straighten your back. Repeat the exercise 20 times in 3 sets.
Vacuum in the abdomen - lying on your back
The simplest type of technique is an exercise performed lying down with bent knees.
1. Starting position - lying on your back, arms along the body, legs bent at the knees, standing on the floor, muscles relaxed. Exhale slowly, gradually emptying your lungs of air, without straining any muscles in your body.
2. Having freed your lungs from air, begin to tense your abdominal muscles, trying to draw it in as much as possible. Breathing stops. At the lowest point, fix the position of your stomach for 10 - 15 seconds, then take a small breath, continuing to draw in your stomach.
3. After taking a small breath, do not rush to relax your stomach - tighten your abdominal muscles and freeze for another 10 - 15 seconds, then pull your stomach in again, while maintaining tension in your abdominal muscles. If you find it difficult to hold your breath, take small breaths.
4. Exhale, relax your stomach, take a few free breaths and exhales, then empty your lungs of air again and pull your stomach in as much as possible. As you pull in, try to tighten your abdominal muscles, and then push your stomach up without inhaling.

Contraindications
However, despite its enormous usefulness, the vacuum exercise for a flat stomach also has its contraindications - you should not practice it if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, on “critical” days and during pregnancy
This exercise should be performed with extreme caution in case of any diseases of the lungs, stomach and heart muscle.
In addition to losing weight and pumping up abdominal muscles, vacuum exercises heal the body. For example, in yoga it is believed that it rejuvenates the nerves of the gastric tract and intestines, promotes the elimination of toxins, strengthens the back muscles, which has a good effect on posture, massages the internal organs, and also rejuvenates the internal glands.

I went in for sports and the skin on my stomach tightened up.
Regularity and the close gaze of the coach are important here. If you do not have the skills to work with different muscle groups, do not even try to tighten the abdominal skin yourself, because you will simply waste time aimlessly. With a baby in my arms, it was not entirely convenient for me to go to training three times a week, as recommended. I acted quite cunningly and economically.
I bought a membership to the sports club for a year and agreed with the coach that I would go there two or three times a month. My trainer shows me the basic techniques that I use before my next trip to the club. Thus, I can work out at home every day and perform only those exercises that are recommended by an experienced trainer.
The main elements were:

- abdominal exercises (a little different from those that were once in school, since you don’t have to completely lift your entire body off the floor);
- step steps (I had to buy a special platform for this).
Every month the number of exercises was added, and some were completely replaced. The trainer chose the program for me individually.
Home workouts with and without sports equipment
There are other comprehensive workouts that you can do at home. To perform them you will not need special exercise equipment or tools – just a mat and a towel.
Important! Don't limit yourself to just abdominal exercises. An even load should be given to all muscle groups: neck, shoulders, arms, back, buttocks, legs
Bench
Get on your knees and rest on your elbows. To prevent your hands from slipping, you can put a small towel under them. Place your feet on your toes, and then straighten your knees. You need to stay in this position for three counts, and then repeat the task again.
A straight back is the key to correctly performing the “bench” exercise.
Difficult plank
It is not easy to do, but the press will receive maximum load.
Take a horizontal position and focus on your elbows. Place your feet on your toes. The most difficult thing is to raise your legs one by one.
After this lesson, instructors recommend sitting down, tucking your heels under your buttocks and leaning forward. Do some stretching and only then proceed to the second approach.

Weights in the form of dumbbells or a body bar will help to work out the lateral and oblique abdominal muscles well.

Every woman knows the classic exercise with an improved hoop since childhood. Now it will help you quickly burn excess fat on your waist and hips.

- Take the hula hoop with your hands and hold it at waist level. Bend one leg and, maintaining balance, slowly bend.

Surgical methods
The fastest and most effective way to deal with skin folds is plastic surgery. However, the recovery period after surgery is quite long and difficult.
Liposuction
There is laser, radio frequency, and water jet liposuction. This operation is suitable for young and middle-aged women, because... Its implementation is possible only with sufficient elasticity of the skin. If the patient’s weight is close to normal, but exercise and proper nutrition do not give the desired result, one of the methods for removing subcutaneous fat is used.
Abdominoplasty
The most effective option for correcting serious changes caused by very large weight loss or multiple pregnancies. And also for patients whose skin elasticity is insufficient for liposuction. Excess skin is simply removed. Fat deposits are also removed and the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall are tightened, which allows you to create an attractive abdominal shape.
It is worth considering that even after the operation you will not be able to completely “relax”. If you don’t take care of your diet and don’t exercise, it’s very easy to return to your previous state.

For these purposes, various creams containing retinol, vitamins A and C, hyaluronic acid, extracts of various plants (seaweed, green tea, aloe, etc.), and caffeine are used.
To tighten the skin of the abdomen, you need to carry out lifting using special tightening creams. You can use creams for facial rejuvenation. The basic principle is to change lifting creams frequently to prevent addiction.
The skin of the abdomen will tighten well if you use masks and wraps at home. For example, anti-cellulite wrap is a very effective skin tightening product.
How to tighten sagging skin on the stomach with wraps? To do this, you need to prepare an anti-cellulite mixture, large plastic film and a warm blanket.
The following components can be used as mixtures:
