Important: the coffee diet is not suitable for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, gastritis or ulcers.

If you feel bad during the process, your stomach hurts, your heart is pounding, or you feel nauseous, stop the diet, drink water and eat diet food, but without coffee!

Possible side effects and contraindications

If you drink coffee frequently, as required by the 7-day coffee diet (especially the mono-diet), the following side effects may occur:

Coffee diet for 7 days

One week of a coffee diet eliminates 7-8 kg. The diet is quite strict, but in addition to coffee, you definitely need to consume other low-fat foods.

We eat three times a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we replace one of the meals with a cup of black natural coffee without sugar. There are various options online - some recommend a cup of coffee for breakfast, others for dinner, but in reality, there is not much difference. You can choose the option that is more convenient for you: if you don’t want to have breakfast, drink coffee. You need to eat in the morning, but you are ready to give up your evening meal - replace it with a cup of your favorite drink.

For one meal, choose one of the options below. That is, any two options per day.

Authorized products:

  • 200 g of boiled or baked meat - chicken fillet without skin and fat, or beef, or fish;
  • 150 g low-fat cottage cheese;
  • 2-3 boiled eggs;
  • 200 g of boiled, stewed, baked or fresh vegetables, maybe a little vegetable oil;
  • 50-60 g dark chocolate;
  • 2 medium apples or citrus fruits + a piece of cheese, equal in volume to two fingers;
  • a serving of oatmeal – 3 heaped spoons of dry porridge.

You can choose some other products that are comparable to those offered in terms of characteristics and calorie content. But: nothing fried, fatty, canned!

Coffee for Weight Loss Works Because of Several Key Factors

  • 200 grams of meat - poultry fillet without skin and fat, lean fish, beef, veal;

The only drinks allowed are natural black coffee and pure water. No alcohol, sugar, butter, sweeteners, etc.

Negative points

The disadvantages of coffee fasting include a large number of contraindications, which were already mentioned above. In addition, attention should be directed not only to the presence of diseases, but also to age. So, the main disadvantages include the following:


  1. When ridding the body of excess fluid, coffee can contribute to dehydration. The water-salt balance may be lost, which, of course, will not bring any pleasure or benefit. Those who overdo it are in danger of trouble, starting with a shift to a worse state of health and ending with swelling of internal organs, which can be caused by blockage of blood vessels. Taking these facts into account, you need to remember that drinking plenty of fluids during this diet is an indispensable condition!

  2. Coffee leads to darkening of teeth - this is another annoying disadvantage of such weight loss. You can minimize the consequences by brushing your teeth after each cup. However, you should be careful: during this period you should use a soft brush and non-aggressive paste to prevent harm to the gums and enamel.
  3. You should also be careful when consuming the energizing drink because it can leach calcium from tissues, contributing to bone fragility and the appearance of cramps.
  4. An excessive amount of an invigorating drink on the menu can cause sleep problems, migraines and provoke hypertension.

Once you decide on this type of weight loss, you should use all the recommendations. And also don’t forget to listen to your body.

The bulk of the weight is lost in the first half of the diet, as caffeine actively removes water. Next, fat begins to be burned. If you follow the rules and recommendations, you are guaranteed to lose weight, and quite quickly. You shouldn’t jump on food immediately after leaving the diet; introduce foods gradually, and give preference to healthy foods, so you can maintain the weight.

I go on a coffee diet for 3 days before important events, holidays, when I need to look perfect in a tight dress. Steady loss of about 3 kg. It cannot be used frequently, but 2-3 times a year is possible without harm to health. And chocolate allows you not to break down and feel good!

My friend and I went on a coffee diet for 7 days before the New Year. I liked that you can choose from the allowed list what you want today and what you have in the refrigerator. I was a little hungry, sometimes they added 100 grams of low-fat yoghurt. It took me 6 kg, my friend was initially heavier, she easily lost 8. Very effective!

During a diet, coffee must be grain, no instant. Coffee should be brewed in a Turkish coffee pot or coffee machine.

The type of coffee does not matter much, but it will be better if you add green beans to black coffee, which differ in composition and make the diet more effective.

As mentioned above, you should not drink coffee after 19.00 to avoid insomnia. Among other things, this diet can only be used as an express method, since with frequent use, the effectiveness of the diet is significantly reduced. Essentially, caffeine is an alkaloid, which also includes morphine and cocaine. Over time, your brain will require more and more caffeine to perk you up. The dose of coffee will have to be constantly increased. For this reason, it is recommended to repeat this diet no more than once every three months.

Another unpleasant moment may be darkening of tooth enamel . To avoid this, it is recommended to brush your teeth after each coffee drink and use special mouthwashes. You may need to visit your dentist after finishing your diet to have your teeth professionally cleaned.
