What should be orthopedic?
With health in mind, you should choose purchases for a schoolchild. At the same time, you should not overpay for unnecessary functions. For example, shoes for boys do not have to be orthopedic. Orthopedic shoes are often heavy and uncomfortable. But light, soft and fashionable shoes with spring soles will become your favorite for a long time. The child will carefully store his favorite shoes and will not lose them among the school chaos.
If shoes for boys can be ordinary, then it is better to choose an orthopedic school table and chair. Adjustment according to the child’s height and the angle of the table top will ensure the correct position at the table. Such desks preserve vision and posture during long periods of homework.
The school bag can be orthopedic. But it is more important that it be durable and light. Considering the heaviness of textbooks and the number of lessons modern schoolchildren have, the weight of the backpack is of paramount importance.
Children's sports complex for schoolchildren's health
It’s good if there is a children’s sports complex at home next to the desk. If physical education with a set of exercises is difficult and unnatural to do yourself, then hanging on a sports complex is much easier and more fun. Typically, the demand for a sports complex increases sharply when a child goes to school and starts doing homework. Children are happy to exercise on it themselves, apparently their body requires it.
Some children love to play sports with their parents. It’s worth coming up with a set of exercises that you would regularly perform with your child. This complex needs to be supplemented and revised from time to time. The video below contains some ideas for your home exercise routine. We shot this video with the head of the children's orthopedic center of the NIITO clinic, Doctor of Medical Sciences Tatyana Nikiforovna Sadova. It was not easy to organize filming with such an important and busy person, but we really wanted to share this information.
Muscle strengthening
Physical education occupies an important place in the prevention of diseases caused by excessive stress on the back in schoolchildren. Schoolchildren need to perform exercises to strengthen the muscular corset and increase back flexibility.
It is advisable to enroll your child in a sports section. Swimming, figure skating, skiing, dancing, playing basketball, volleyball, and football will benefit your posture. “Asymmetrical” sports (badminton, tennis, fencing) are undesirable.
Nutrition also affects muscle strength. It should be balanced and fill the body with all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Additionally, you can give your child vitamin complexes.
