Doctors support traffic light labeling for food products

“Space diet” by Sergei Sivokho: without denying himself anything, the comedian lost 42 kg in 3 months

The “Traffic Light” diet is a nutritional system for weight loss, which includes a variety of healthy foods from which you can prepare many different and tasty dishes. The advantage of the diet is that there is no specific strict schedule; the main thing is to eat only approved foods that promote weight loss.

The “Traffic Light” diet allows you to lose 5 kg in a month, but the weight loss process is not accompanied by a strong feeling of hunger, since the diet is balanced and rich in elements and minerals necessary for the human body.

The essence of the diet

The Traffic Light nutrition program was developed by nutritionists from Italy.
The second name of the diet is ABC. This diet fully provides the body with the necessary vitamins, microelements, and eliminates extra pounds. The Svetofor diet is considered balanced, because it is designed so that the body receives all the necessary vitamins and microelements. Daily caloric intake changes daily: this prevents metabolism from slowing down.

Slow weight loss is not harmful to health. The body adjusts to the new regime, so the lost kilograms after the diet do not return. The Traffic Light power system helps achieve the following results:

  1. Effective weight loss. In a week you can lose 1.5–2 extra pounds.
  2. Reducing the volume of the stomach due to fractional nutrition.
  3. Removing excess fluid and toxins.

Reviews from those who have lost weight

Ekaterina, 52 years old “In recent years I have gained extra pounds. I tried to lose weight with the help of various dietary supplements, but the results were always short-lived. I was researching suitable diets and came across “Traffic Light”. I decided to try it, because there is a choice of products and slow weight loss is harmless to health. I won’t say that it was easy for me, but I followed all the diet instructions and lost 4.5 kg in one month. Next, I will use the system of fasting days.”

Evgeniy, 30 years old “I was getting married and wanted to get rid of the small belly that had appeared. I am a diabetic and not all diets are suitable for me. But “Traffic Light” exists in a version for diabetics. I lasted a month on this diet and lost 4 kg. Hooray! The abdomen has been eliminated!

Diana, 38 years old “After giving birth, I gained excess weight, and it didn’t want to go away - neither exercises nor fasting days helped. I decided to try the “Traffic Light” diet, which is fashionable among my friends. At first it was difficult to adapt, but then I got so involved that I didn’t notice how a month had passed, and with it 5 extra kilos. For now, this is enough for me, I’m so used to split meals and fast walking that I will continue to do this further, limiting myself to harmful foods.”

Marina, 45 years old “I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was horrified, I know first-hand about this insidious disease, because my grandmother died from it. My doctor advised me to try the Traffic Light Diet for diabetics. It was not easy for me to get used to such a diet; I have had a sweet tooth all my life. But the fear of developing the disease forced me to follow all the diet instructions. And within a month my sugar levels returned to normal. Along the way, I lost 4 kg of excess weight. I will continue to adhere to the diet recommendations.”

The principle of dividing products into groups

Traffic light power

The colored diet has a special rule. All products are divided into groups:

  1. Red (prohibited) - completely excluded from the diet.
  2. Yellow (acceptable) - consumed moderately, in small portions, before 18:00.
  3. Greens (allowed) are the basis of the diet; they are eaten without restrictions or counting calories.

Green color

Products of this group are consumed in any combination. The diet does not provide for calorie restrictions. The group includes:

  • seafood;
  • buckwheat grain;
  • low-fat white fish;
  • boiled eggs (up to 2 pieces per day);
  • raw carrots;
  • fermented milk products with fat content up to 2.5%;
  • cucumbers;
  • White cabbage;
  • greenery;
  • vegetable oils;
  • apples;
  • citrus fruit.

Green group products

Yellow

To diversify the menu of the Svetofor diet, the consumption of products from this group is allowed. They are eaten no more than 2-3 times a week in minimal quantities (up to 100 g). The yellow list includes:

  • cottage cheese (up to 5% fat content);
  • ketchup (1 tsp);
  • cheeses (up to 25% fat content);
  • porridge (oatmeal, millet, barley, pearl barley);
  • bitter chocolate;
  • green tea;
  • spices;
  • coffee;
  • cocoa;
  • pasta made from durum flour;
  • bran bread;
  • lean meat;
  • nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans);
  • fruits not included in the green list.

Additionally, it is worth studying the rules for consuming products of this group:

  1. Dark chocolate can be eaten no more than 15 g, up to 3 times in 7 days.
  2. Porridge should be cooked in water, without salt, milk, sugar, or butter.
  3. Cottage cheese and cheeses are included in the diet before lunch.
  4. Tea, cocoa, and coffee are consumed without cream, milk, or sugar.

Yellow group products

Red color

Fast carbohydrates and fatty foods can slow down the process of losing weight, so they are included in the list of prohibited foods. The diet when following a color diet does not include:

  • fast food (shawarma, hot dogs, French fries, hamburgers);
  • fatty fish;
  • alcoholic drinks;
  • chips;
  • yeast baked goods;
  • sugar;
  • salt;
  • sweets;
  • bread;
  • jams;
  • fat meat;
  • canned vegetables;
  • salo;
  • smoked meats;
  • ice cream;
  • sausages;
  • animal fats;
  • salted mushrooms;
  • semolina;
  • butter;
  • factory juices;
  • grape;
  • carbonated drinks;
  • bananas.

Red group products

Eggs

The “cherry on the cake” of my purchases were the eggs from “Svetofor”, which turned out to be half broken, which the buyers found out about only when they came home and removed the sealing film.

There is only one conclusion - before chasing cheap prices, you should think carefully and analyze what is and is not worth buying in a particular market. “Svetofor” certainly deserves the attention of buyers - here you can skimp economically, as evidenced by our previous article “What to buy from “Svetofor””, but you should choose extremely carefully.

Disadvantages of losing weight using the Traffic Light method

The diet helps women and men quickly lose weight. But the method has significant disadvantages:

  1. Serious imbalance between proteins and fats.
  2. Not everyone who is losing weight has free time for walking after every meal.
  3. The red list includes lard and butter. These products have a beneficial effect on brain function.
  4. Carrots and apples from the green list contain a lot of sugar.
  5. The result of the diet is unpredictable and depends on the characteristics of the human body and the compiled menu.

Results for men and women

At first glance, the menu is composed correctly, the “Traffic Light” diet allows you to eat in such a way that the body receives all the substances necessary for its active functioning. In fact, it is possible to identify a strong imbalance in incoming proteins and fats, and the nutritional plan is not fully developed. In addition, the result of such weight loss is very unpredictable:

  • men can lose only 3–4 kg in 20–30 days;
  • women lose weight faster; in a month they lose 5 - 7 kg of excess weight.

The same results can be achieved by following the simplest recommendations of nutritionists:

  • eat at least 3 times a day;
  • the maximum calories should enter the body in the first half of the day;
  • reduce the portion for each meal (this is easy to do by replacing the usual plates with saucers);
  • give up fast food and alcoholic drinks;
  • reduce the amount of sweets you eat;
  • instead of white bread, it is worth introducing black bread into the menu;
  • do basic exercises every morning and replace public and personal transport with active walking.

Such recommendations do not disrupt the usual rhythm of life, allow you to create a full menu and not deprive yourself of the pleasure of eating your favorite dishes, their quantity is simply limited.

And do not forget that maintaining the results of losing weight using the proposed method is only possible if you adhere to the recommended diet throughout your life.

We recommend reading about the “Minus Dinner” diet. You will learn about the features of the diet, its pros and cons, menu, effectiveness and real weight loss results.

And here is more information about the “6 petals” diet.

The “Traffic Light ABC” diet is a reason for controversy between doctors, scientists and developers of this weight loss system. There have still been no positive reviews about it from official medicine, so it’s worth choosing another method of weight loss. At the very least, it must be approved by doctors - this will be a guarantee of safety for general health.

Contraindications

The Svetofor nutrition system has serious limitations and can cause harm to the body. To avoid negative consequences, before starting the diet, you should familiarize yourself with the contraindications:

  • age under 18 years;
  • breastfeeding period;
  • diabetes;
  • pregnancy;
  • oncological diseases;
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal tract), liver, kidneys of chronic form;
  • disorders of the thyroid gland;
  • tendency to arterial hypotension (low blood pressure);
  • period after treatment of viral diseases;
  • bulimia nervosa, anorexia;
  • rehabilitation after surgery.

The Traffic Light system is not recommended during periods of intense physical or mental stress. Restrictions can seriously affect the condition of someone losing weight. It is prohibited for athletes to follow a colored diet before important competitions, schoolchildren and students before taking exams.

Canned food

At Svetofor you can find canned food for every taste - from peas and corn, to lecho, tomato paste and fish. Unknown producers and their meager selection are alarming, and as a result it turns out that these fears are not in vain - the peas are hard and contain a lot of liquid, and instead of trout, tuna and salmon, the cans contain solid bones, filled with fat.

This is what I came across in the “Salmon” jar from “Master of the Baltic”.
