One of these wonderful elixirs is hydromel, a drink whose roots go back to ancient Rome.

The drink consists of water, honey and fresh lemon. Hydromel has a positive effect on the functioning of internal organs in general.

It is no secret that both lemon and honey contain valuable substances for the human body that are necessary for its normal functioning.

Recipe No. 1

Ingredients:

  • Izotov oatmeal jelly starter – 5-10 tbsp.
  • water – 2 glasses
  • oil - to taste (butter, olive, sea buckthorn, sunflower)

Cooking method:

The starter is mixed with cold water and brought to a boil. While stirring with a wooden spoon, evaporate to the desired consistency. Served with butter. For those who have a sweet tooth, you can add a spoonful of honey.

To achieve a therapeutic result, regular use is required. For example, taking it every morning for breakfast:

  • Izotov oatmeal jelly – 200 g, warm

Taking jelly at night is not recommended due to the fact that Izotov’s oatmeal jelly increases tone and invigorates the body.

Two useful tips

  1. Don't just sit on hydromel. Some people don’t read to the end and think that if a cocktail of water, honey and lemon is used for weight loss, then this means that you only need to drink this cocktail and not eat at all. This is wrong.
  2. A cocktail combined with overeating is ineffective! Don’t go to this extreme either, don’t think that since water with lemon and honey helps you lose weight, then let it work, while I eat more fried potatoes, grilled chicken and eight pies at night. I. Fermentation lasts 1-2 days. It is not advisable to carry out longer; the taste of the product deteriorates. The fermentation process is indicated by the formation of bubbles, a characteristic sour smell and separation of the contents.

Fermentation is a chemical reaction that requires certain conditions to be met - temperature, darkness, tightness. This is what we will provide...

Ingredients:

  • rolled oatmeal – 300 g (3 cups)
  • kefir – 4 tbsp. (70-100 g) or Izotov’s oatmeal jelly – 2 tbsp.
  • water – 2 liters (boiled, cooled.)
  • oats, roughly crushed – 8-10 tbsp (if you have them, you can crush them in a coffee grinder or mill)

Cooking method:

  1. Pour water, kefir into a 3-liter jar, and add Hercules oatmeal.
  2. In order for fermentation to proceed better, add crushed oats (if you have it, but you can do without it)
  3. Close the jar tightly with a lid. We comply with the requirement of tightness. But, at the same time, we must remember that as a result of fermentation, carbon dioxide is released. I see the best option as when making wine - put a rubber glove on the jar. And there is a way out for carbon dioxide, and it’s hermetically sealed.
  4. Cover the jar with some kind of cover (paper or fabric). We will do this in order to limit the flow of light. It is known that under the influence of light, certain reactions occur that destroy vitamins, microorganisms and other beneficial components of the drink.
  5. The main condition for fermentation is temperature (22-28 degrees). If it is cold in the apartment, then put the jar on the radiator and cover it. At temperatures above 28 degrees, fermentation will also not take place.

II. stage. Filtration

  1. We filter the contents of the jar using a colander (sieve), which we place over a pan with a large diameter.
  2. Let's wash the flakes. To do this, place the oatmeal from the colander back into the jar, fill it with a small amount of chilled boiled water, shake vigorously and filter again (see point 1, stage II).
  3. Let's repeat point 2.
  4. This resulted in two components:
  • The filtrate is the entire liquid component. We will use it to make Izotov’s oatmeal jelly.
  • We do not throw away the oatmeal left in the colander; they can be added to porridge and baked goods.

III. Leachate treatment

  1. Let's pour the filtrate back into the jar and let it settle. In 18-20 hours (the next day), the filtrate will separate into two fractions: transparent on top, white precipitate below.
  2. Carefully salt the transparent fraction. This is oat kvass - a healthy, pleasant-tasting, sour drink. In order to more accurately drain the transparent fraction, you can use a drain tube. (If you decide that Izotov’s oatmeal jelly will firmly become part of your menu, then you can purchase such tubes either at a pharmacy or at a pet store - aquarium tubes)
  3. We use the white precipitate:
  • as an ingredient for the recipe - Izotov oatmeal jelly;
  • as a starter for subsequent fermentations (see beginning - fermentation). This Izotov oatmeal jelly can be stored in the refrigerator for 21 days.

Note:

The container in which the jelly is prepared should not be metal. The metal surface of the dishes reacts with the contents and, as a result, the healing and taste properties of the jelly are disrupted.

Plastic containers can release harmful substances. Therefore, they are also undesirable to use. Food can be transported in food-grade plastic containers. But the production of Izotov oatmeal jelly involves fermentation processes. Fermentation products can react with plastic substances. Consequently, the taste and medicinal properties of the product deteriorate.

Hydromel made from honey and lemon

To prepare the drink you will need:

  1. 500 gr. lemons (when purchasing them, give preference to domestic and Transcaucasian ones, because “Turkish and the like” are significantly inferior in usefulness);
  2. Natural honey – 250 gr. (approximately to the rim of the faceted glass). I think there is no need to talk about the quality of the honey you choose - this ingredient in all recipes should be of excellent quality.

Let's begin. First of all, we scald our lemons with boiling water to rid the peel of unnecessary chemical components that the supplier may have treated the lemons with to increase shelf life. In addition, it was noticed that after this treatment, lemons become more juicy. After processing, all the fruits are cut into small slices and placed in a glass jar, and honey is now poured into it. Now we place the jar in the refrigerator, where after a day you can see honey-lemon syrup - this will be the basis for preparing your drink from honey and lemon.

Well, now everything is simple: every morning, add about 90 grams of your base to a glass of boiled chilled water and drink half an hour before breakfast.

Thanks to active components containing a huge amount of useful substances, hydromel has the following properties:

The recipe for hydromel has been known since ancient times. It was used by many peoples, including the ancient Greeks and Romans. It was considered the drink of the gods.

The old recipe includes one whole lemon, so the drink must be drunk through a straw to preserve tooth enamel. But the juice of a whole lemon is not suitable for everyone. If we compare the benefits of drinks made from lemon and honey according to the first and second recipes, it is believed that the second method of preparation is still preferable, since fresher products are used.

Rules of use

Finally, some tips on how to properly drink a drink made from lemon and honey.

  • It is advisable to use no more than one glass per day - in the morning (many people advise doing this several times a day, but this is fraught with the development or occurrence of gastritis due to exposure to excessive amounts of lemon juice).
  • If you are preparing a drink from lemon and juice according to the second recipe (from freshly squeezed lemon juice), then you must take into account that its activity decreases every minute, so it must be prepared immediately before use.
  • There are many opinions about the duration of use, but it is more correct to use the drug during the period of exacerbation of colds or during the winter “blues”, a loss of strength from one to three weeks.
  • At least half an hour should pass from the moment of taking the drink to eating, since food significantly reduces the absorption of vitamins, especially for dairy and fermented milk products.
  • After taking a honey-lemon drink, it is advisable to brush your teeth in order to reduce the negative effect of acid on the enamel. As for the dosages of ingredients: you can adjust them “for yourself”: if you want a less acidic drink (remember that you once had gastritis), reduce the dose of lemon juice, if you like sweets, increase the volume of honey, do not strive to achieve accuracy down to the gram.
