Soy is promoted as a healthy meat substitute and is very popular among vegetarians or people trying to reduce their consumption of animal products.

1. Only vegetarians should eat soy products.

A.V. Mosov, doctor, head of the expert department of NP Roskontrol: I believe that soy products are undeservedly unpopular, because soy is the only complete replacement for animal protein - meat, fish, dairy products, eggs. In addition to protein, it contains healthy fats, slowly digestible carbohydrates and vitamins. If we are talking about nutrition during fasting or vegetarianism, then such a replacement other than soy can hardly be made. In addition, soy milk and soy-based products are suitable for those who are lactose intolerant.

Soy formula for children with allergies to cow's milk protein

Soy formula for newborns is an alternative to cow's milk-based milk nutrition for children who cannot consume it due to allergies to lactose and milk protein. They contain vegetable soy protein, vitamin supplements, micro- and macroelements. The opinion that these products are hypoallergenic is erroneous - children may be intolerant to soy vegetable protein, so inclusion in the diet requires a doctor’s recommendation.

Pediatricians strongly do not recommend using soy formula for feeding “healthy” newborns (without allergies), because this leads to lack of nutrition and low body weight. Indications for the use of soy mixtures are:

  • acquired, temporary or congenital lactose deficiency;
  • allergy to cow, goat or breast milk;
  • viral diarrhea;
  • galactosemia (disorder of galactose metabolism).

The effect of soy on men's health

For reference:

Soy protein powder can be added, for example, to your morning oatmeal or milkshake.
Of all soy products, soy concentrate contains the most protein (80.7%). In second place is dry soy meat (58.1%), and in third place is low-fat soy flour (about 47%). Soybeans contain almost the entire set of macro- and microelements: potassium - 1607 mg per 100 g, calcium - 348 mg per 100 g, silicon - 177 mg per 100 g, magnesium - 226 mg per 100 g, phosphorus - 603 mg per 100 g, iodine - 8 .2 mcg per 100g, copper – 500 mcg per 100g. People who watch their diet stick to a certain amount of nutrients they consume per day - proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Each nutrient must be present in a certain amount for optimal functioning of the body. How many soy products can you eat daily? Here, restrictions can only be determined by the standards of human protein needs - for an adult this is 75 g per day, of which at least 60% must be animal or soy protein. Consumption of protein in quantities greater than 100-120 g per day is not justified, unless, of course, you are an athlete.

Is soy harmful to the male body? Soy products contain isoflavonoids, plant compounds similar to female hormones. For men, the use of these substances is undesirable; in large quantities, they can suppress male hormones and impair testosterone production.

Soy products cause disruption in the production of hormones in the thyroid gland and prevent the penetration of iodine into the body. What do these processes lead to?

Consequences:

  • Slow metabolism;
  • Decreased performance of the body;
  • Decreased hormone production.

Beans contain polyunsaturated fatty acids that oxidize in the body and damage it at the cellular level. This is how hormonal disruption occurs, and therefore men are not recommended to abuse products containing soy.

What impact does it have on the health of the female body? Is soy healthy?

Benefits for women:

  1. Reduces the level of cholesterol deposits in the blood.
  2. Restores the functioning of brain cells.
  3. Reduces body weight.
  4. Reduces the risk of tumor formation in the mammary glands.
  5. Capable of removing radionucleic isotopes contained in places with high radiation from the body.

Soy products strengthen the skeletal system and reduce blood glucose levels. They cleanse the bile ducts and help prolong the menstrual cycle.

Are soy-containing products harmful for ovulation? Recent data has revealed that soy delays ovulation, but does not prevent it. They also do not affect sperm concentration.

Soy is useful during menopause; the isoflavone substances included in the composition are similar in action to female hormones. One glass of soy milk per day replenishes a woman’s need for beneficial macro- and microelements and alleviates the symptoms of menopause.

What is the harm of soy for the thyroid gland? It is a goitrogen, a product that enlarges the thyroid gland, slows down function and causes disease. How to use soy products for such diseases?

Rules:

  • Not recommended for use if you have iodine deficiency.
  • Use fermented soy products (cheese, pasta). You should not take processed beans (powder, protein shake).
  • It is not recommended to eat soy products during treatment for thyroid diseases; soy can suppress the effects of medications.
  • Do not abuse this product, the optimal dose per day: thirty milligrams.
  • It is not recommended to use soy-based supplements due to the high content of isoflavone compounds.

Soybeans cause an allergic reaction: swelling, rhinitis, skin rashes. Therefore, if you have dysfunction in the thyroid gland, you should refrain from consuming such products.

Soy is a dietary product that promotes weight loss

When losing weight, it is considered correct to replace the usual high-calorie foods with “light” ones: bread with whole grain bread, sour cream with low-fat yogurt, meat with soy substitute. In fact, if you replace regular meat in your diet with a soy product, it will not lead to weight loss. In order to lose weight, it is important to review your entire diet.

What products contain soy?

Soy products are common and are available in almost every grocery supermarket. What varieties can you find?

Soy products:

  1. Milk - made by squeezing pre-cooked soybeans. It contains useful cyanocobalamin and calcium. Dairy products and drinks with the addition of soy have a refined, delicate taste.
  2. Meat - is produced in the process of extrusion cooking of dough with water and flour, then the mass is dried and cut into pieces. It contains healthy protein that serves as an alternative replacement for animal protein.
  3. Cheese - made by curdling soy milk. It has different types, depending on the consistency, aroma and other components of the composition.
  4. Asparagus - made by collecting and drying the milk foam of soybeans. Before use, it is soaked for a while and added to various dishes. Asparagus speeds up metabolism and has a positive effect on the digestive and nervous system.
  5. Flour - produced by grinding whole soybeans until a powdery consistency is formed. It is considered a low-fat product and contains 50% protein. Increases the body's immunity, strengthens the bone and central nervous system.
  6. Oil - obtained by pressing beans. The composition contains healthy fats that have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system of the human body.
  7. Noodles - made from soy starch. Due to the large amount of protein, it is useful for athletes and people with diabetes. Perfectly restores the body after serious illnesses and injuries.
  8. Soy sauce is produced by fermenting beans. Refueling improves the functioning of the central nervous system and the body's defenses.

There is chocolate, which is classified as a dietary product, in which soybeans act as a substitute for cocoa. Chocolate lowers blood pressure and fights fatigue.

Reviews

Elena, 32 years old Many are skeptical about soy food, but when consumed in moderation it is very healthy. I especially love Tofu cheese. It is reminiscent of Feta - just as creamy and white. Tofu has a mild flavor and goes well with salty, sweet and spicy ingredients. I like this cheese best in vegetable salads.

Galina, 25 years old I recently discovered these products. I decided to diversify my diet and at the same time lose a couple of extra pounds. I cooked fresh beans: boiled, baked, stewed. Each time the taste is special. Beans are very appetizing as a side dish for regular meat.

Sprouted soybeans

Sprouted soybeans contain twice as much ascorbic acid, tocopherol and B vitamins. What features do sprouted beans have?

Properties:

  • Antioxidant, increase the body's immune strength.
  • Calming, prevent stress and have a beneficial effect on the condition of blood vessels.
  • Cleansing, improves intestinal motility.
  • Has a beneficial effect on the hematopoietic system.

Soybean sprouts can be harmful to human health. They should not be consumed by children under twelve years of age, due to the negative impact on the hormonal system and puberty of adolescents.

You can germinate bean grains at home; you should wash the beans well and leave them in a dark place with high humidity.

GMO

Let’s shed some light on this “dark” topic, full of horrors. a single reliable report has been published in the scientific literature about any of their negative effects on the human body. GMOs are, one might say, a revolutionary method of selection that will give us the opportunity to buy cheap and high-quality products, so being afraid of GMOs is, excuse me, like burning Giordano Bruno for his progressive views.

Genetically modified products (GMO) are products whose genotype has been artificially changed using genetic engineering methods for our own good. Changes were made specifically to improve their qualities: to increase yield, improve taste and nutritional value, resistance to pests, etc.

Since the 1970s, scientists have been studying the potential risks associated with the use of GMOs. The American Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine conducted the largest study to date of nearly 900 scientific articles published over the past 30 years on the effects of GMO foods on the human body and the environment. The analysis of the articles continued for two years by a committee of 50 scientists, researchers and specialists from agriculture and biotechnology.

Based on the results of the study, hundreds of scientific papers did not find any signs of a negative impact of products from GMO crops on human health . Consumption of these products is in no way associated with cancer, obesity, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, kidney diseases, autism or allergies.

Interestingly, according to the survey results, more than a third of Russians do not have the knowledge necessary to at least somehow evaluate GMOs . For example, many do not know that all the plants (even those that grew in our dacha) that we eat are not genetically identical. There are always some mutations in any cucumber eaten, and in every banana there may be a gene that has been changed without our knowledge.

But it is not the insidious Americans, not the evil government, or even the Masons who care about this, but primarily solar radiation and other sources of genetic variability. Gene mutation is a natural process in nature without which biological evolution is impossible.

We think that if you tell such people that hundreds of atypical cancer cells are formed every day in any body, but at the same time we do not all suffer from cancer, this will simply tear their template to shreds.

In addition, people talk about an increase in diseases since the introduction of GMOs. However, they are clearly digging in the wrong direction. There are more genetic diseases, just like there are more people on earth. This is PROPORTION! Thanks to science and advanced medicine, carriers of various diseases have a greater chance of surviving and having offspring, and therefore passing on genes to their children.

The extent of blind and ignorant GMO hatred is astonishing, as is the number of people who believe that vaccines are dangerous. Okay, let's ban genetic engineering at the state level, refuse vaccinations, pills (what, it's all chemicals), stop space flights (people are starving here on Earth), and in general, why spend money on studying drugs? Back to the Stone Age!

With their protests, people are trying to strangle science and the development of society, and the most important drivers of this are lack of education and fear of change. It’s no wonder that people love to do all sorts of detoxes and others.

But it is science that opens the way to the future, saves lives, and gives us the opportunity to understand the world around us and even the secrets of the universe. Only thanks to its development will we be able to become highly developed individuals, but what is it, science simply makes our lives easier and improves, which for some reason we still resist.

So don’t be afraid of GMOs, or at least study the issue carefully - we’re sure you’ll be surprised by the real data on the state of affairs. In any case, for all crops, whether they are genetically modified or come to us from their native fields, there are standards for the content of certain elements and compounds . And the cultivation of GMO crops does not exempt producers from undergoing a final examination for compliance with these standards, so the manufacturer simply will not be able to sell toxic products - it simply will not pass the compliance test.

Hatred towards GMOs is reminiscent of the situation with potatoes , when Peter the Great first brought them to Russia. The tubers grew well on Russian soil, but the spread was greatly hampered by the fact that the peasants were afraid of the overseas fruit. There were even cases of poisoning from potatoes, but only because people did not know the properties of this plant and tried its fruits without any culinary treatment. And potatoes in this form are not only inedible, but also poisonous.

OH GOD, THE RUSSIAN PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BUILED FOR THE FOURTH CENTURY. Joke. As a result, potatoes spread very quickly throughout Russia, also because they helped feed people during poor grain harvests. What would have happened if the peasants had insisted on their own because of their ignorance? After all, now we are doing exactly the same with GMOs.

Soy in cosmetology

In cosmetology, a protein compound obtained by hydrolysis of soy flour is widely used. How is soy protein used?

Application:

  1. They have a positive effect on damaged hair, have a conditioning, moisturizing and restoring effect.
  2. Penetrate the skin, smooth out wrinkles and prevent premature aging, thanks to soy isoflavones.
  3. They take care of the eyelids, eliminating swelling and dark circles under the eyes. There are many serums and creams in which soy is the main component.
  4. Used in the care of rough and rough areas of the skin of the hands and feet (heels, elbows). They have a bright softening and moisturizing effect, and are able to eliminate dermatological defects on the skin.

Soybean oil is widely used; it is suitable for skin types such as dry and normal, as well as those with the first signs of aging. It is not recommended to use oil for oily epidermis.

Benefits of soy

  1. Reduces blood cholesterol levels. However, the effect is achieved only if you consume at least 25 g of the product per day.
  2. Normalizes weight and promotes weight loss. Lecithin contained in legumes stimulates fat burning in the liver.
  3. Thanks to calcium and estrogen-like isoflavones, soy helps get rid of osteoporosis and hot flashes during menopause.
  4. Excellent prevention of malignant neoplasms in the breast.
  1. The plant is capable of removing radionuclides and heavy metal salts from the body.
  2. Positively affects bone tissue. Beans are used in complex therapy and prevention of arthritis.

What is it: how it looks and grows with photos

Soy is still an unknown mysterious substance for us and about 70% of people do not even know that soy is a plant, but think that it is some kind of artificially created “synthetic product”. Let's close the gaps in our knowledge!

So, soybean is a plant of the legume family, a tall grass that blooms with lavender flowers. Look what the plant looks like in the photo:

This is what the pods look like when growing

Seeds

Soybean is one of the oldest cultivated Asian crops. In China, for example, cave paintings were found, which became the basis for believing that the cultivation of the legume plant began 5 thousand years ago. In eastern countries, soy has always been popular because it was much cheaper than dairy and meat products, and contains a lot of protein.

Now soy is an indispensable product for those who have decided to give up meat, for gourmets and just people who are ready to try new things. In addition, it will be very useful for women during menopause - the isoflavonoids (isoflavones) contained in it help to improve hormonal balance!
