Golden Hour diet: diet, recommendations, reviews
The Golden Hour Diet is now popular because of its effectiveness and the remarkable results of following it - it allows you to lose 5 - 10 kilos with almost no effort. The only thing that is required of you is willpower, since food is consumed once a day.
And note, despite the significant restriction of food intake, only 5-9% of people stop eating.
The “Golden Hour” diet is a novelty in modern dietetics that allows you to lose weight easily without breaking your diet, without consulting a nutritionist.
Diet not only allows you to lose weight quickly, but also without harm to your health.
Many people who want to lose weight cannot change their usual diet and diet, because at the same time they need to eat foods that help them lose weight. But you won’t be able to maintain such a diet for long. Even if you lose weight, you will gain weight again after finishing this diet. And I'll have to go on a diet again. This is an advantage of the Golden Hour diet - you don’t need to eat foods you don’t like.
Another advantage of the Golden Hour diet is that after your appetite returns to normal, you can easily switch to any diet, and it will be easier for you to follow it.
You can eat while following the Golden Hour diet once a day, the duration of the meal is 1 hour at any time of the day.
The diet includes your favorite dishes that you choose yourself (even sweets and baked goods), but you need to eat it within 1 hour - “Golden Hour”!
Within one hour you can eat whatever you want and in any quantity, for example: fried chicken, fried potatoes, buns, sweet tea, chocolate. Of course, if you prefer lower-calorie foods, you will lose weight faster.
That is, if you follow the Golden Hour diet, you don’t need to change your menu!
General information about the diet
This power system is quite rigid and peculiar. The essence of the one-hour diet is that you can eat almost anything, but only within a strictly allotted time period. Overweight people are usually happy when they learn that they can eat whatever they want. However, in reality it turns out that eating once a day is difficult - you quickly feel overtaken by a feeling of extreme hunger, weakness, and dizziness. Nutritionists warn that this nutritional system is only suitable for completely healthy people.
How is rapid weight loss achieved? It is almost impossible to exceed the permissible daily calorie intake in an hour. And since in the remaining time it is prohibited to eat anything other than pure water, there is no risk of exceeding the recommended daily kilocalorie intake.
The psychological point is important: a person does not need to torture himself with a complete absence of any favorite food. You just have to wait for the “golden hour”, during which he will be able to satisfy his most sophisticated gastronomic needs. Absolutely all foods and dishes are allowed for consumption, with the exception of those containing sugar.
“Golden hour” can be arranged at any time of the day or night. Just keep in mind that this time is fixed throughout the diet. If the interval from 8 to 9 pm is selected, then throughout the diet you should eat only during this period of the day. Moving the selected hour is prohibited.
The general rules of the one-hour diet mean that the duration of such a diet will be at least ten days and no more than thirty. If you follow such a diet for more than one month, you may develop a deficiency of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Mood now: Upbeat
Hi all.
Let's start with the fact that I am 22 years old and I weigh 95 kg with a height of 159 cm.
It's already sad, isn't it?)
But there is no bad without good. I study at university, work and I have a loved one. AND... A LOT OF EXTRA WEIGHT!
The IMS tells me that it would be nice to weigh 47-63 kg with my height and sedentary lifestyle, but apparently at some point something went wrong. This is what I am now:
Of course, I wasn’t always like this, but... There’s always a “But,” right?
No not like this. We bring ourselves to this point.
I've always been chubby, but not fat. At the age of 15, I weighed 50 and considered myself fat (what a fool). Then, little by little, I gradually reached the mark of 68 at the age of 19... It was scary for me, and apparently out of fear, I lost 5 kg and at the age of 20 I weighed 63 kg. That's all. Then came a happy family life, without fears. Evenings on the couch with treats and loved ones =) I’m not complaining, by no means! I'm happy, but there must be a fly in the ointment!) And here it is. In the form of an extra 35 kg (I would even say 45 kg...)
Moreover, I still don’t understand how this happened? These are my favorite things, and next season they don’t even fit on me! Seriously, love has made me blind to myself. I looked after my boyfriend's health, not mine. Now I look at myself in the mirror and I don't see myself. I see FAT. Lots of FAT. I don’t understand how he loves me like this? After all, I was a completely different person when we started dating him... I don’t know when I stopped taking care of myself, I didn’t even realize that I had gained weight...
By the way, my ex-boyfriend left me because of my excess weight (I then weighed about 65 kg...)
Naturally, I tried to lose weight before.
Not eating after 6 didn’t help, I couldn’t sleep at night with an empty stomach, and my prince brought me sandwiches because his beloved was suffering =)
The Maggi diet was the best option, I lost 8 kg in 3 weeks without feeling hungry. Then, naturally, I began to celebrate the victory and in a short time returned to my original weight.
The “Carbohydrates.net” diet is bearing fruit. Definitely. But, unfortunately, it’s not me who cooks at home, but my boyfriend’s mother, so I couldn’t stick to this diet for long. Although, my boyfriend liked it =) I don’t remember how much I lost, the weight jumped back and forth, because I often “snapped” (I ate what they give, and did not cook it myself) But if you cook for yourself, then the diet is excellent. More precisely, not a diet, but a nutritional system. And very tasty =)
The most recent thing (there were attempts before the New Year) was counting calories - if only I could control myself =) I ate 1200-1500 kcal per day, not counting holidays. The weight also jumped 91-95 kg the entire time, although I don’t think I followed it strictly, for example, during the holidays I had a blast and ate what I had lost. So in principle it works, but I can’t do it. Especially because in the evening I constantly want to eat. Maybe I don’t notice it at work, but when I get home I just pounce on food.
And then the moment of truth must come... You need to keep the intrigue =)
I started thinking, “What am I doing wrong?” If there weren’t such big (like me =)) problems before, then I made a mistake. I started to remember and yes, I came across something in my memory.
When I was 14-15, I didn’t think about food as “Mmm... Food... Yummy... EAT A LOT!!!” well, etc. I just didn't want to eat. Well, that is, of course I wanted to, but laziness took its toll =)
I was too lazy to get up early for school to have breakfast, and I skipped it.
When I came home, I was too lazy to cook lunch for myself, or, simply put, to warm it up, so I skipped lunch.
When it was time for dinner, my mother returned from work, slapped me on the head because I hadn’t eaten all day and forced me to eat =)
In general, most often, I ate only once a day. Well, or when hunger conquered laziness =)
Mom always said that this was harmful, so I didn’t immediately decisively choose this path, but went on the Internet. There was very, very little information, namely only what they write on the forums that it is very harmful, others say the opposite, that monks eat this way and have no problems. At the same time, I found several diets on this topic, but there are not enough reviews =) (for reference, “One Hour Diet”, “Golden Hour Diet”)
In general, I spat on all these opinions, because... they are too contradictory, but the reviews are most often positive. And in general, at the age of 14-15 this did not bother me, there were no problems, why should they appear now?
Last Sunday I did a test weigh-in and decided to give it a try. According to my feelings and my man’s words, I have lost weight. Tomorrow we'll see how much...
About my diet. I eat everything.
Everything a mother-in-law does. I eat everything =) but only for dinner. During the day I drink mineral water, coffee, tea without sugar (with carbohydrates. I still have the habit of using sweetener). Yesterday for dinner I ate a huge plate of pasta with baked chicken, poured it all generously with ketchup and ate cheese with garlic and mayonnaise as a bite (very tasty , and sooooo high in calories) If I want to eat too much, I eat a few spoons of muesli (usually this moment comes after 15.00 and muesli helps me wait until dinner)
In general, I probably described everything. I will wait for the results and share them in my diary
Contraindications to the use of the diet
Nutritionists warn that people with excellent health can use this nutritional system. If you have a history of diseases of the digestive tract, then it is better to abandon the idea of losing weight on a one-hour diet. Contraindications are the presence of the following diseases (both in remission and in acute conditions):
- peptic ulcer of the intestines or stomach;
- cholecystitis;
- pancreatitis;
- gastritis of any etiology;
- oncological neoplasms;
- erosions, polyps or neoplasms on the intestinal mucosa;
- diabetes mellitus type 1 or 2;
- chronic alcoholism or drug addiction;
- toxic hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis.
This is just a short list of the main diseases for which fasting in any of its forms is strictly contraindicated. And the one-hour diet, in essence, involves intermittent fasting.
Side effects from using this diet
In the first week of such interval nutrition, almost all people experience weakness. Frequent dizziness and fainting indicate that this type of diet is not very suitable for this person. In this case, you should not torture yourself for a long time with the one-hour diet. Maximum 10-14 days, otherwise the pre-fainting state will be replaced by loss of consciousness. Such an unlucky “weight loser” risks getting a new diagnosis - vegetative-vascular dystonia.
If a person tolerates the one-hour diet well: he does not experience dizziness, nausea, does not lose consciousness and does not suffer from darkening of his eyes, then he can safely tune in to such a radical interval feeding regime for a month. The main thing is that the nervous system does not malfunction, there is no pain in the epigastric region, and there is no constipation.
Intermittent fasting and hourly diet
The one-hour diet is of particular interest from the point of view of the production of growth hormone - somatotropin. Athletes have long experimented with hourly nutrition, allowing huge time gaps between meals. The principle is the same as with the hourly diet: eat food daily only from one to five or from nine in the morning to twelve in the afternoon. The rest of the time - hunger.
This regimen promotes increased production of growth hormone - somatotropin. Many professional athletes inject themselves with this expensive hormone in order to rejuvenate the body, increase endurance, accelerate the growth of muscle tissue, and burn subcutaneous fat. Research has proven that intermittent fasting promotes the production of endogenous growth hormone, i.e. a part of the brain begins to independently produce somatotropin in larger quantities. Thus, we can conclude that the one-hour diet indirectly affects fat burning, muscle growth, and helps maintain a youthful appearance.
But there is also a flip side to the coin: a high content of somatotropin in the body also promotes the growth of tumors, if they already exist. So for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, “games” with intermittent fasting are strictly contraindicated.
List of approved products
This nutritional system is not strict: moreover, you can afford many of your favorite dishes that are strictly prohibited on any other diet. Only sugar is prohibited. This restriction was introduced deliberately in order to exclude violations of insulin resistance.
Allowed foods on the one hour diet:
- meat - any, but it is optimal to choose dietary varieties with a low amount of fat (veal, chicken, turkey);
- any seafood and fish;
- any fermented milk products, it is even permissible to consume cream, fermented baked milk and others with a high percentage of fat content;
- baked goods that do not have added sugar (of course, it is optimal to choose either Borodino bread or whole grain bread, but the diet also allows for eating products made from white flour);
- any fruits and vegetables;
- fast food and other harmful things: shish kebab, fried potatoes, burgers with hot sauce;
- Those dishes are allowed that normal diets prohibit: cutlets, borscht and soups with rich broth, cabbage soup with sorrel, pork and beef goulash, fried fish, vegetable salads with mayonnaise.
As it became clear after reading this list, there are practically no restrictions on the food consumed. The main condition is that it must be eaten within one hour. During the rest of the time, it is only permissible to drink clean water - not tea, not coffee, not compote or broth, otherwise this will be a violation of the diet.
What results in quick results?
The positive effect of eating only 1 hour a day is due to compliance with the daily calorie intake. And its serious decline. In 1 hour the norm is not only impossible to exceed, it is almost impossible to achieve. Except for one golden hour, the rest of the time we can only drink pure water. Tea, coffee and other drinks are excluded.
In the golden hour diet, two psychological issues are important that are associated with diets of any kind. Restricting nutrition or eating according to regulations very often leads to a breakdown when those “losing weight” cannot stand it and overeat two to three times the norm. The second point is related to stress, when you have to seriously limit the consumption of your favorite food. In the golden hour program, these two points do not work. Please go wild, but only for 1 hour a day. And you don’t need to limit yourself, because everything is possible except for one small prohibition.

This prohibition is sugar; its consumption is prohibited by the terms of the weight loss program. The “Golden Hour” diet is convenient because it can be used throughout the day at any time. But there is one rule: the selected time is valid for the entire period. If you choose the time from one in the afternoon to two in the afternoon, then throughout the diet the time of the golden hour remains the same.
Changing the time range is prohibited. This is due to the fact that a person’s metabolism and digestive reflexes change under diet conditions. The diet lasts from 10 days to 1 month. Extending the period beyond 30 days can lead to the development of vitamin deficiency, deficiency of mineral compounds, which in turn can cause the development of skin diseases, tooth loss, and blurred vision.
What is strictly prohibited to eat
The diet strictly prohibits the consumption of sugar. It is also not advisable, but acceptable if the desire is strong, to consume baked goods made from white flour.
List of fully or partially restricted products:
- chocolate, candies, caramel, marshmallows, marshmallows;
- ice cream;
- cakes and pastries;
- sweet and puff pastry and products made from it;
- sweet pies made from yeast dough (permissible if you do not add sugar to the dough and cook them, for example, with apples or berries);
- white bread with jam, jam, honey.
Compotes, tea and coffee can be drunk with the addition of a sweetener. This will help you follow the rules of the diet and not provoke a feeling of severe hunger, which inevitably develops when eating sugar.
What can you drink on the one hour diet?
The nutrition system implies a complete abstinence from any alcoholic beverages. Beer, cocktails, wines and spirits are prohibited. They provoke a blow to the cells of the liver and pancreas, which already have a “hard time” during the period of interval feeding.
In order not to provoke insulin surges, you should avoid drinking tea, coffee, fruit drinks, compotes and factory-made juices with added sugar.
The following drinks are allowed:
- natural freshly squeezed juices;
- tea and coffee either without sugar or with a sweetener;
- mineral water with or without sparkling water;
- drinks “Cola Zero” and “Pepsi Light” (no more than 200 ml per day);
- natural kvass.
Fully or partially limited products
In order not to provoke problems with the gastrointestinal tract, organ obesity, atherosclerosis , diabetes , and not to burden the kidneys, liver, pancreas, eat less:
- fried, smoked, too salty;
- flour and sweet;
- canned foods and snacks.

How to deal with constant hunger
Reviews of the one-day diet indicate that almost all people suffer from severe hunger in the first week. But almost everyone is “warmed” by the thought that the golden hour will soon approach, during which you can eat your most favorite dish - be it meat, potatoes, with or without bread.
Most often, severe, painful hunger indicates that the body has experienced a strong spike in insulin. This occurs most often after eating foods containing sugar. Sometimes a spike in insulin can be triggered by eating fruits that contain a lot of fructose. It is not as harmful as sucrose and has a lower glycemic index.
A little about the Golden Hour diet
The diet is not particularly typical, having a severe but peculiar restriction. The diet is called “golden hour” or “golden hour diet” and its essence is hidden in the name. The main condition is that you can eat whatever you like with a small set of restrictions, but only 1 hour a day.
Aphiwat chuangchoem: Pexels.com
At first, plump food lovers consider the diet easy, because you can eat anything, even for 1 hour a day. But the first thing they encounter is a quickly receding feeling of satiety, and then hunger sets in, and with it a feeling of weakness and dizziness. Doctors warn overweight people that throwing themselves into such restrictions without preparation is fraught with harm to their health.
Reviews of the one-hour diet for overweight girls
Positive reviews indicate that the diet was easy to maintain. The girls were able to get rid of the annoying 4-5 kg in a couple of weeks, and after returning to their normal diet, the excess weight did not return.
Negative reviews of the One Hour Diet are most often associated with health problems that began after changing your diet. It is not without reason that nutritionists warn that the diet is only recommended for completely healthy people. Reviews indicate that pain in the epigastric region, constipation and nausea are common when trying to change your diet.
Quitting the diet
During the golden hour diet, the stomach noticeably decreases in size. But in order to maintain the achieved results, you need to continue to eat right even after its completion. Returning to your previous diet after following a diet involves following these recommendations:
- add one meal each day, starting with breakfast;
- when creating a menu, preference is given to low-calorie products;
- The amount of food consumed during the “golden hour” is reduced in proportion to the addition of new meals.
Even if the one-hour diet has demonstrated excellent reviews and results, it is recommended to regularly conduct fasting days. It is especially important to do this during the first six months after following it. After this, the likelihood of returning unwanted pounds will noticeably decrease.
Reviews about the diet of obese people
Obese people will not be able to get rid of twenty to thirty extra pounds even in a month of interval eating according to the principles of the one-hour diet. Reviews report that this style of nutrition can be used as part of complex therapy to get rid of obesity. Since in order to “eat up” obesity, you have to try for years or decades, treatment cannot be carried out in a few months.
Reviews from obese people about the one hour diet are not very positive. The body is in no hurry to produce growth hormone and launch fat burning mechanisms, since the metabolism is too disturbed. In order to restore the proper functioning of your metabolism, you should eat right for at least one year and include at least rare exercise in your life.
Unanswered questions
When is the best time to eat? The optimal time would be lunch time, which is best suited for a one-time meal. The body has already woken up, and the metabolism is working at maximum speed. But you can choose any time convenient for you.
Let me remind you that you can eat almost anything. But, if you want to get faster results, then give preference to foods that are not too high in calories.
When will the first results be? And the results will not take long to arrive. After the first day, you will already be able to get rid of a couple of kilograms. And within a week, lose as much as 10 kg. If you follow the diet for another week, you will get even better results than in the first days, since your metabolism will slow down and your appetite will decrease.
Reviews from professional athletes
As mentioned above, amateur and professional athletes during the fat burning period adhere to the nutritional rules of the one-hour diet. True, they slightly change it to suit themselves: they eat mainly protein foods, and not for one hour, but three or four.
Reviews about this diet are positive. Yes, it is very strict, and to withstand it, remarkable health and willpower are required. But such nutrition allows you to reduce the percentage of fat in the body to 10-12%. The result of the one-hour diet is impressive: the relief of even relatively small muscles becomes visible.
Reviews and opinions of doctors about this diet
Reviews of the one-hour diet by doctors are often negative. Since almost every person has undiagnosed diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, such a diet often does more harm than good. Doctors are against radical dietary changes.
Even if there is no official diagnosis yet, interval eating can cause severe pain. A person is sent for an examination, during which a whole “bouquet” of chronic ailments is diagnosed. For most people, it is preferable to eat small portions of healthy foods throughout the day.
