  1. The ground cinnamon sold in our stores is mostly low grade and is actually ground cassia bark. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the place where the spice is produced: it is better to buy cinnamon from Ceylon (Sri Lanka), but China, Indonesia and Vietnam, as a rule, supply products of poorer quality (cassia). In addition, you should not pay money for German, American and Israeli spices (Sanka cinnamon is not sold in these countries).
  2. There is no need to chase low prices: good spices have a higher cost. Packaging with cassia is labeled with the combination “Cinnamomum aromaticum”.
  3. You should “sniff” the spice: real cinnamon has a soft, warm and sweetish aroma, while cassia has a less strong smell, but is rougher and sweeter.
  4. It is worth purchasing the most twisted cinnamon sticks of a delicate light brown color. The Indonesian spice is usually poorly curved and has a dark reddish-brown hue.
  5. It is better to give preference to fragile sticks; cassia has a more rigid and coarse structure.
  6. You can determine the type of spice at home: you need to drop a solution of iodine onto a cinnamon stick or powder; real spice will only take on a slight bluish color, while cassia will take on a dark blue color.

Valuable information! It is better to buy cinnamon in the form of sticks: it is often of higher quality and “retains” its taste properties for a longer period of time (about 1 year). And you can grind it at home.

The tea is brewed in the usual way, then a cinnamon stick is placed in the mug with it for a couple of minutes. You can also use ground spice: it is added to the kettle to freshly brewed tea (in an amount of no more than 5 g), then the drink is infused for 2-4 minutes.

With honey and milk

Milk tea with cinnamon and honey is considered an excellent rejuvenating remedy. It can help get rid of hated pounds, it gives the face a healthy complexion, improves digestion and overall well-being. The recipe is simple:

  • 40 g of black tea is poured with 400 ml of boiling water;
  • after 10 minutes, add 200 ml of heated milk to the tea, then add a cinnamon stick to the drink;
  • After cooling, add one (or several, to taste) teaspoon of honey to the tea (for those who like to drink the drink hot, it is better to eat the bee “product” as a bite).
