That is, if you opened it, it means that the very “moment of change” has come for you. I don't know how you got it. Maybe you were wandering around the store in despair because for the hundredth time you were looking for a way to lose weight and couldn’t find it. Maybe because a friend or relative gave it to you. Maybe you heard about the system on some forum or read about it in a magazine.

In any case, I have no doubt that now your unsuccessful attempts to lose weight will end.

Where such confidence? The fact is that the “Minus 60” system is not just a restructuring of the diet or an increase in physical activity, which is talked about everywhere. This is something more - a completely new outlook on life, a unique philosophy.

The system really works. Previously, I could only confirm this fact with my own example:

• having lost 60 kg a sufficient number of years ago;

• continuing to stay in good shape to this day;

• turning your whole life 180 degrees, forcing it to follow a completely new scenario.

Today you can be confident that the system works from the experience of millions of its followers who buy my books every day, come to online seminars, or even just read my story on the Internet and think that they probably could do something similar in your life.

I hope that by reading this book to the end, you too will be on a path of change that will surely take you to new heights that you may not have known existed. And of course, I have no doubt that with the help of the Minus 60 system you will achieve your dream figure in the very near future.

I wish you good luck, sincerely yours, Ekaterina Mirimanova

Chapter 1

"How it all started"

I'll start from the beginning. No, thank God, not the process of losing weight itself. I’ll just tell you my story for those who don’t know it. And this time it will not only be about my weight loss, but also about life in general. Because I really want to share my secrets with you. Make yourself comfortable.

This is the story of a very ordinary girl, born in a residential area of Moscow in 1982. I had an unremarkable family. Dad is an editor of chess literature books, mom is a linguist, translator and teacher. Since childhood, like many ordinary girls, I have constantly struggled with being overweight. Let’s just say that when I was very little, my parents struggled with her more. And I rebelled against this with every fiber of my little soul. I didn’t eat enough for dinner - I went to my grandmother, who, by a happy coincidence, lived on the floor above, and “fed up” with various goodies. Then she asked her not to tell her parents anything and begged for more food at home. Add neurodermatitis to this, I was “sprinkled” on almost all products. Hence the constant desire to eat something forbidden, because I loved sweets, but they didn’t allow me to eat them.

In general, not the most joyful childhood, to be sure. Add here the desire to work from a young age, nurtured by parents. Already at the age of seven I helped my dad with writing books, fortunately, my overall development did not let me down. At thirteen I told my parents that I was starting to work in an advertising agency. I looked older than my age; clients did not ask me for my passport either over the phone or at a meeting.

That's when I fell in love for the first time... With my boss, ten years older than me. Naturally, he perceived me as a little girl. But I decided to win his heart at all costs. Encouraged by my mother, I began to lose weight intensively. Hunger strikes last a week, sometimes two. During breaks, food is kept to a minimum. A year later I looked perfect, but the manager was never impressed, to my terrible disappointment. Then I wanted to become a universally recognized beauty and found part-time work as a model. I had to continue to fast regularly, otherwise the weight immediately began to creep up. My day turned out to be very long. I woke up at 6 in the morning, drove to the other end of Moscow to college, stayed there until two, then again across the city to work, stopped for fittings and photo shoots on the way, finished work at 8-9 in the evening, crawled home by ten.

By the age of 16, I was the chief advertising manager of a small office with my own business cards and even a mobile phone (almost no one had them then)! I was going to enter the marketing department at the university, continue working as a model and make a career in this business.

But then life changed my plans.

First my dad got sick. My dad, who had always been the healthiest person in the world, who had never taken pills in his life, suddenly fell ill. The diagnosis of cancer sounded like a bolt from the blue. Despite the fact that he was an extremely authoritarian person, I loved him very much. And I didn’t want to believe in the reality of what was happening. My father was never the breadwinner of the family, but after his illness, my mother and I felt that we would have to work even more. Mom taught courses from morning to night, I began to leave college earlier in order to have time to communicate with more clients. The whole household also fell on my shoulders. Dad was getting worse. Seeing that I was close to a nervous breakdown, my mother sent me to Bulgaria for a couple of weeks. There I abstracted myself a little from the cruel reality. And I met a young man with whom I fell in love for the second time in my life. He was five years older than me, from a very intelligent family, the eldest son of a long-term and hopelessly divorced mother, with all the ensuing consequences. It is quite logical that what at first seemed like a fairy tale to me turned into a real horror film.

The first months everything was fine with him. However, my dad was getting worse. In mid-October, dad passed away. I don’t want to retell what I experienced then. My boyfriend at first clumsily tried to help, and then began to refer to his constant employment in order to delay the moment of our meeting. Mom was very worried about the death of her husband and was absolutely lost, because she saw the meaning of her life only in the family. I tried to help her as best I could, but the ground was slipping away from under my feet.

It was then that I began to gain weight again, because I could no longer starve. Firstly, terrible dystonia set in; I could lose consciousness in the middle of a fitting with a designer. Secondly, stomach problems appeared. Antacids have become my best friends. After eating any food, my stomach hurt. By the new year, from the summer 50 kg I had reached almost 60. But there was no time for weight.

A way to distract my mother was found by itself. I sent advertisements for her to a newspaper that published the “Dating Foreigners” section. Literally a couple of months later, with my help, she left for Spain, promising that we would live together. But this was not destined to come true. I don’t want to analyze now why this happened, I talked about it enough in my book “Man and Woman,” but I was incredibly worried.

The main thing is to want to change yourself and your life, and the result will surprise both those around you and yourself.

Introduction

A few words about why I wrote this book

Probably the first question that arises for those who open this book is where did this name come from? Of course, I could create another author’s system - for example, “Mirimanovskaya” - but it seems to me that this is somewhat banal. How many of these are there in the world? I didn’t want to promise that you would lose weight easily, effortlessly, once and for all, because once upon a time I was also looking for books about losing weight, and such statements made me nothing more than smile. Then I decided to give the system a name directly related to reality, no matter how incredible it may seem.

I lost quite a lot of weight - 60 kg and did it without using any unnatural methods. And I believe that you and any other woman can repeat my success and lose those hated pounds. That’s why I called my weight loss system “Minus 60”. It doesn’t matter whether you need such serious results or you dream of losing only 5 kg, the key word here is “minus”. And if you follow the advice in the book, you will improve your subtraction skills as your weight begins to drop with enviable regularity.

This system is different in many ways from those you have already read or heard about. I think it’s no secret that most books on dietetics and weight loss are written by men. Either this is due to the fact that among the stronger sex there are more venerable doctors of science, or due to the fact that they more often achieve their goal and complete the publication of books. However, the fact remains: Paul Bragg, Montignac, Atkins, Protasov - and these are the authors of the most famous personalized diets of our time. The first difference between my book and other similar books is that it was written by a woman.

However, it’s one thing to study the theory, perhaps even try some kind of diet on your own – male – body. It’s quite another to go through it yourself, to feel all the pain you experience when you realize that you don’t look the same as before. In essence, it is not so difficult to eat right as it is difficult to rebuild yourself in the right way, cast aside all doubts and begin to consistently achieve your goal. So, the second difference between this book and others is that I myself went through everything that I describe and recommend. I know what difficulties you may face and how you will feel at certain moments.

When I was just thinking about losing weight, I began to become interested in the latest advances in this area. I looked through all the Internet resources in search of the necessary information, but I never found anything fundamentally new. My friends were constantly on some very strict diets like “cucumber on Monday, tomato on Tuesday, cremation on Wednesday.” At one time, I also fasted for weeks, but as soon as I began to eat properly again, my weight increased at an incredible speed and ultimately exceeded my previous levels. My friends who wanted to lose weight were constantly in search of the optimal diet, because any restrictions quickly tire. Even the vaunted “Weight Watchers” and “Kremlevki” (the benefits of which, in spite of everything, I doubt) imply restrictions on carbohydrates, juices, and so on. I'm not talking about counting calories, with which you can become a real neurasthenic! I have nothing against looking at the product label before purchasing and perhaps taking another one with less fat/calorie content. After all, finding an almost identical, but lower calorie product is quite easy. But in order to keep within a certain amount of calories, while weighing the food!.. This is quite difficult in that you need to constantly check the table in search of what else you could afford today. I am against putting the body under additional stress. We often get nervous over trifles. The third difference in my book is that I have tried to reduce to a minimum the amount of effort you will have to make to follow my system.

There is another category of publications related to the topic of weight loss. They usually start like this: “You can eat whatever you want and still lose weight.” However, when you open the book, you see that not everything is actually allowed; moreover, you will probably find recipes for dishes that are recommended to be consumed. And most likely, it will be something like “baked salmon tail with artichokes and béchamel sauce.” Let's face it: a modern woman, raising even one child, does not have the time or desire to indulge in culinary delights every day. And the recommended products cannot always be found in Russian supermarkets. This book provides recommendations that you can implement. At the same time, you will not find specific recipes here, since you have every right to eat the foods you prefer, just in a slightly different system than you are used to.

My system also implies a new attitude not only towards oneself, but also towards life in general. Without this, you are unlikely to fully realize your mistakes and be able to maintain normal weight. Modern people have so forgotten how to listen to themselves - they are always in a hurry, busy doing a huge number of necessary and not so important things - that they do not perceive their inner voice. Thus, from a completely natural satisfaction of hunger, food consumption turns into a bad habit, leading to irreversible external and internal changes. The woman eats more and more and becomes fatter. Chronic pain and illness appear, your health becomes worse and worse, you try to break this vicious circle, but you can’t, you try again and fail again. The hope that something can be changed is fading every day. Eventually you just give up. Although, in order for things to move forward, you just need to look at some problems from a different angle and make small adjustments to your daily habits.

Ekaterina Mirimanova - Minus 60 problems, or Secrets of a sorceress

Ekaterina Mirimanova

Minus 60 problems, or Secrets of the sorceress

Introduction

A few years ago I lost a lot of weight. While I was overweight, it seemed to me that some of my problems did not want to be solved due to excess weight. But when I brought my figure back to normal, I realized that external changes certainly affect the quality of life, but there are much more important things that, alas, we think about much less often than the extra centimeters on the waist and hips.

When my first book, “The Minus 60 System or My Magic Weight Loss,” was published, the chapter on psychology and motivation was discussed by readers the most, which both pleased and saddened me. After all, this meant that most problems really come from the head. And the more I delved into the study of this issue, the more convinced I became of the need to write a third book.

The theory that a gradual restructuring of the way of thinking can help not only people losing weight, but also any person thirsting for change, was born to me after losing 60 kilograms. At that moment, I expected that life would change dramatically without the slightest effort on my part, but in reality everything turned out differently. I had to remember long-forgotten “truths,” connect them with the stories of real people, analyze and look at everything that was happening from a different angle before I realized what I was doing wrong. Everything fell into place in my head, and a chain of extraordinary magical events transformed my life.

Just imagine: you want something - and you get it, you need to meet someone - and an important person immediately finds time for you, you have been dreaming about something for many years, and suddenly all your desires begin to come true one after another . Worries gradually fade into the background, and you have free time and money to implement even the most daring projects! Doesn't that happen? Don't you believe in miracles? Is there a logical explanation for everything? Well, then just try to read this book to the end, maybe it will help you change your mind. You deserve the best, so why not get everything you are legally entitled to?!

For the convenience of the reader, the book is divided into chapters and problems so that you can quickly find the answer to your question. Of course, at the moment you are unlikely to suffer from the presence of all 60 points in your life. But I still advise you to read the book from beginning to end, because the roots of problems are often intertwined with each other, which we do not even suspect. For example, we most often cause difficulties in communicating with someone ourselves, through our behavior, thoughts and self-doubt. Failures in your personal life are the costs not only of self-criticism and imaginary shortcomings in appearance, but, above all, of an unwillingness to love yourself and the inability to enjoy loneliness.

I tried to touch on all the questions that in one way or another arose among a variety of people that my friends, relatives, or myself encountered. I can't say that I don't have problems now. After all, even knowing all the nuances, you inevitably make mistakes. Thus, Benjamin Spock, recognized by many parents as a model teacher, had serious problems in relationships with his own children; Allen Carr, who wrote a book on how to quit smoking, died of lung cancer; and many nutritionists are fatter than their patients.

I am not a professional psychologist and I am not here to analyze your behavior or tell you what to do. I'm just sharing what I learned myself not so long ago. In any case, if you treat what is written with even a minimum of attention and seriousness, I sincerely hope that your life will be transformed. Well, if you accept some recommendations and begin to implement them, a lot in your life will change for the better. After all, most of these principles have been tested by me and people who are losing weight using the “Minus 60” system, which implies mandatory work on your way of thinking. You may absolutely not believe in magic, but at least for fun, try my tips, and you will see results in the first days. Don't try to create "global miracles." Start with something small. And small “tricks” will not keep you waiting. And then everything depends on you. Real miracles happen only to those who believe in them.

Starting today, your life can change! Are you ready for this? It doesn’t matter at all how old you are, where you are at the moment, what you do, what you want to become. Each of us, deep down in our souls, wants something that seems unattainable, fabulous. And you can make your dream come true. I would like to dedicate this book to my little daughter. She recently turned four years old. But I’m almost sure that when the baby grows up, she will definitely read it, at least I would really like to. I will try to say everything that was not told to me in childhood, adolescence and older age. If I had known all this before, my life would have been completely different. But I don’t regret anything, even the fact that the lack of information caused many bumps that could have been avoided. After all, if it weren’t for these mistakes, I would hardly have become who I am now, which means I could never write a book about magic.

Chapter 1

The problems that surround us, or “The unexpected is always somewhere nearby!”

Columbus didn't even intend to discover America, he went for gold for Spain.

Every day I receive many letters from women who want to lose weight, but do not realize that their problem is not in weight, but in thoughts. When I read them, tears often come to my eyes, because I cannot explain to them in a few words everything that I understood at one time before I finally found happiness.

We constantly think that we want to have a lot of money, an ideal husband, an obedient child, beautiful appearance, an interesting job, and at the same time we do absolutely nothing. “What can I do to become a millionaire, if now I live from paycheck to paycheck, or how to become a beauty if I have never been one?” – many will object.

Don't expect that after reading this book you will never want for anything again, or that you will learn to create money out of thin air, or that men will start falling on their faces as soon as they see you. Believe me, you don’t need such miracles. Because when something appears in your life out of the blue, you don’t have time to prepare and cannot get true pleasure from the acquisition.

Sometimes I think about how great it would be if there were no problems in the world. No one would irritate us, nothing would interfere with achieving our goals, everything would be easy and simple. This is akin to dreams of everyone winning the jackpot in a casino. The amounts would be so small, and the business so unprofitable, that soon all such establishments would close, and people would stop going there.

Risk and problems are still necessary, because after solving the problem there is always satisfaction from completing the task. Would you object that you would prefer not to experience such “joys” and live a calmer life? Believe me - no.

I know many women and men who have achieved everything they could want, and now others look at them with bated breath. However, when you come face to face with them and talk a little, you understand that they are exactly the same people as you and me, who are having a hard time with their success, tired of constant attention.

Even the fulfillment of your cherished dream will not make you happy if you do not know how to appreciate the present moment and accept everything that life gives you. Any woman is a master of creating problems not only for others, but, alas, for herself personally.

Remember what was the reason for your bad mood the last time? Did you see a red spot on your face and decided that you would not go to visit, spending the evening in deep depression because no one loves you? Or did you spare the money for a haircut at a normal hairdresser and now you can’t go outside with your head uncovered for a month? Did you have a fight with your husband, loved one or acquaintance because before his call you were “winding up” yourself for absolutely no reason?

We create most of our troubles ourselves.

Parents and loved ones play some role in our “wrong” thinking, but the final word remains with us.

I was born into a strange family. My mother was not eager to have a child, but my father insisted, although he had no idea how to raise me. I can’t say that I wasn’t loved as a child, but we didn’t have affection, my parents didn’t come up to just hug me, and I almost never heard the words: “I love you!” or: “You’re great, you’re doing great with everything!” By the way, in Soviet families this approach was quite common, since the manifestation of feelings to most adults seemed something wrong.
