To make a miracle product, it only takes a couple of minutes and a few ingredients that are in any kitchen cabinet.
Terms of use
Scrubs stimulate blood circulation, thereby reducing subcutaneous fat. With regular use, the color and condition of the skin improves, cellulite goes away, and the waist becomes thinner. True, only a couple of procedures are enough for some to notice the result, while others require more sessions. It all depends on the individual characteristics and the severity of the problem. However, there are several recommendations that help achieve maximum results in the shortest possible time:
- Use the product after an evening shower. The fact is that the substances included in the scrub are absorbed into the steamed skin much faster, and, therefore, give a greater effect. Apply the cream in circular motions for at least 5 minutes, paying special attention to problem areas.
- After the procedure, rinse off the paste with warm water and be sure to moisturize the skin. Give preference to creams and lotions containing vitamins A, B3 and E, which promote collagen production and improve metabolism.
- Do not forget that body compositions are not suitable for the face, since they contain coarse abrasive elements.

It is not difficult to prepare a homemade scrub, because many of its components are found in almost every home. You just need to know which products are suitable for the scrub composition and have a recipe for its preparation.
Among the basic rules for preparing mixtures at home are:
- mandatory use of high-quality, non-expired components;
- compliance with prescription proportions;
- making scrubs immediately before use.
For body
The main purpose of scrubs is to remove dead cells, dust, dirt, sebum produced by the glands and toxins from the surface of the skin, making it smooth and giving tone. Some women prefer to carry out cleansing procedures in the salon, but if you choose the right list of ingredients, you can achieve results at home that are in no way inferior to those in the salon. The basis of a homemade scrub can be shower gel/sour cream/cream, etc. The abrasive component can be coffee, sugar, salt, cereals, etc. If you want to give the scrubbing mass a pleasant aroma, then it is not forbidden to add citrus fruits to it or fruit essential oils, herbs.
From coffee
Without exaggeration, everyone has heard about the properties of coffee scrub for weight loss, because the benefits of caffeine are simply impressive:
- Improves blood circulation in the skin and subcutaneous layer. As a result, the process of fat breakdown is accelerated.
- Removes excess fluid from skin cells. Thus, the skin becomes smooth and elastic, unnecessary sentimentality on the waist and hips disappears.
- It has a beneficial effect on blood vessels - it makes them more elastic, strengthens their walls, and also prevents varicose veins.
Coffee remedy improves blood circulation and eliminates congestion in tissues. If you carry out aromatic treatments a couple of times a week, then after a few months you can forget about extra centimeters on your waist, cellulite on your hips and even spider veins on your legs. The composition will give the skin not only silkiness and youth, but also an attractive golden hue, to preserve which it is not recommended to use soap to remove the scrub.
To prepare a coffee scrub for weight loss, only natural coffee that has not expired is suitable. If you want to get a rejuvenating effect on top of everything else, then you should choose green coffee. You can also use coffee grounds, but keep in mind that they must come from a drink brewed without sugar, milk or other additives. This component can be stored for no longer than 5 days in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dark place with minimal humidity.
If you are allergic to coffee, the use of this mixture is contraindicated!
Simplest
Dilute ground beans (or coffee grounds) with warm water to obtain a consistency that is easy to apply. Rub the prepared mixture onto your steamed body for 15-10 minutes, then rinse and apply moisturizer.
With honey
Mix coffee grounds and honey in equal proportions and mix thoroughly. The preparation prepared according to this recipe gives the skin, among other things, a bronze tint, so you should not use soap to remove it.
With salt
Combine coffee and sea salt in a 4:1 ratio, add a little moisturizer to make a thick paste. Apply in a circular motion to the steamed surface of the body, massaging it for 7-10 minutes, rinse with warm water.
With massage oil
Combine crushed grains with massage oil or anti-cellulite cream. To add an amazing aroma, you can add any essential oil with anti-cellulite effect to the mixture. These include: rosemary, eucalyptus, orange, grapefruit. And also from bergamot, cypress, cinnamon, juniper. Scrubbing sessions should be performed 2-3 times a week; the effect is usually noticeable after 15 procedures, so be patient.
There is another interesting way of preparing a mixture with the addition of anti-cellulite essential oil.
To create you will need:
- a tablespoon of almond oil or grape seed;
- 10 drops of essential oil (from the list suggested above);
- 100 grams of ground coffee.
Combine the ingredients and you can use it for its intended purpose. Leftovers should be stored in the refrigerator.
With natural yogurt
Promotes the rapid breakdown of fats, prepared from crushed coffee beans and natural yogurt. The components are taken in a ratio of 1:3, it is not forbidden to pour a spoonful of cognac. If desired, you can replace yogurt with kefir; in this case, the ingredients are taken in equal quantities. The body should be massaged with the prepared mass for a quarter of an hour, and then rinsed off with warm water.
With clay
A toning scrub is prepared from blue clay (sold in pharmacies), prepared in the manner indicated on the package, with the addition of coffee grounds or ground beans. Apply for a quarter of an hour and then wash off.
With shower gel
Another simple recipe. Combine crushed coffee beans in a ratio of 1:2 with shower gel or liquid soap. Ready!
From salt
Sea salt is considered one of the most effective homemade cleansing body scrubs. It effectively cleanses, the essential and/or vegetable oils included in the composition soften and protect against irritation, and all kinds of fat-burning additives activate metabolic processes and help you lose weight.
Classical
The easiest scrub to make consists of sea salt and sour cream taken in equal proportions. To add a delicious aroma, you can add a couple of drops of vanilla to it if desired.
With spices
Mix 2 tablespoons of sea salt with half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and the same amount of black pepper. Add a little olive oil to make a thick paste. Rub the problem areas with it for 20-30 minutes. During the procedure, a burning sensation will appear, this discomfort will have to be endured. After the scrubbing session, do not forget to apply a soothing cream with chamomile extract.
With honey
Combine a couple of tablespoons of medium-ground salt, a tablespoon of thick honey, 7 drops of citrus essential oil (orange, grapefruit). Use as directed.
With salt and olive oil
Combine 5 tablespoons of medium-ground sea salt with a teaspoon of olive oil. Pour the juice of half a grapefruit and the zest of a citrus fruit into the mixture. Stir. It is recommended to scrub with the resulting composition for at least 20 minutes; rinse it off with warm water and shower gel.
From honey
As you can already understand from the suggested recipes, honey is quite often found in homemade scrubs. This product is useful not only for oral use, but also in cosmetology, as it tightens the skin, cleanses it, makes it soft and velvety.
Products containing honey are contraindicated if you are allergic to bee products.
With nutmeg and chili pepper
Mix 100 ml of thick honey with a tablespoon of chopped nutmeg and the same amount of red hot pepper. Apply the resulting mixture onto the steamed body in a circular motion. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes! After 5-7 minutes, rinse with warm water and apply nourishing cream.
With blue clay
Combine 3 tablespoons of liquid honey with blue clay to obtain a thick paste. Apply, rubbing in thoroughly. After 15 minutes, when it dries, wash it off.
From oatmeal
Scrubs are prepared at home even from oatmeal, they:
- cleanses the skin well and exfoliates its dead cells;
- smooth out scars;
- have healing properties;
- stimulate metabolic processes;
- tone and stimulate the production of elastin and collagen;
- maintain water balance in epidermal cells;
- improve blood circulation;
- reduce swelling;
- smooth out wrinkles;
- promote skin regeneration;
- get rid of acne and comedones.
Despite all the beneficial properties of oatmeal scrubs, they also have contraindications. Thus, they are not recommended for people with sensitive skin, dermatological diseases, rosacea, venous diseases, wounds, cuts and burns.
With salt and milk
Mix 100 grams of rolled oats with a tablespoon of sea salt. Pour in a tablespoon of hot water and 50 ml of hot milk. Stir. Apply with massaging movements. After a quarter of an hour, rinse off.
With mint and milk powder
Grind 1/2 cup of rolled oats in a coffee grinder or blender. Mix with 1/3 cup milk powder. Add some crushed peppermint and clean water. Mix thoroughly and proceed with the procedure.
With yogurt and zest
Combine a couple of tablespoons of lemon zest with the same amount of natural yogurt. Add a tablespoon of chopped oats and 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil. Apply the resulting mixture in a circular motion, rubbing the problem areas with special care, then rinse.
With ginger
Ginger is a great helper in the fight against excess weight. It is not at all surprising that it is also added to fat-burning creams. It contains essential oil that improves blood circulation, so when in contact with the skin, decay products are more effectively removed, and the skin becomes smoother and more elastic. In addition, ginger:
- has an anti-cellulite effect;
- removes fluid from cells;
- reduces unevenness.
To prepare miraculous scrubs for weight loss, you can use not only fresh root, but also ginger powder. You will have to avoid ginger procedures if you are prone to the appearance of spider veins.
With salt and spices
Take chopped ginger, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in equal proportions. Pour in warm water to obtain a mass with a consistency reminiscent of not too liquid sour cream. Apply the mixture onto a damp, steamed body using circular movements, and after 10-15 minutes of treatment, rinse with warm water.
With honey
Add a teaspoon of ginger powder to 2 tablespoons of natural honey. Stir. The scrub, aimed at improving blood microcirculation and having a tightening effect, is ready.
With coconut oil
Mix 50 ml of unrefined coconut oil with a tablespoon of ground ginger. Heat the mixture over low heat for 7 minutes. Strain and add 50 ml almond oil. Let cool, then add 150 grams of brown sugar, 50 grams of sea salt and 5 drops of orange essential oil. It is recommended to apply with massage movements for 20 minutes, after which it should be washed off with warm water.
Chocolate
Chocoholics will love the chocolate-based cream. Similar sessions are offered in beauty salons, but the cost of the service is quite high. In terms of effectiveness, home procedures are in no way inferior, and everyone can afford them. This delicacy will help put your body in order before the summer season. It exfoliates dead skin cells, nourishes and moisturizes it, and also gets rid of cellulite and other imperfections. In addition, cocoa removes swelling and prevents the aging process.
Chocolate scrub is contraindicated for people with hypertension, arrhythmia and heart disease, gynecological (endometrial hyperplasia, uterine fibroids and endometritis) and dermatological (eczema, seborrhea, psoriasis) diseases, allergies to cocoa beans.
With cocoa powder
Mix 35 grams of cocoa and 100 grams of sugar (it is better to use brown or cane sugar). Pour in as much olive oil as necessary to obtain a paste. The scrub should be applied with massage movements in a thick layer for several minutes, and after 5-7 minutes it should be washed off using hot water.
With orange
Combine the zest of one citrus, grated, with 3 teaspoons of cocoa powder. Pour in a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Now apply the aromatic mixture to the steamed body in a circular motion, and after 5-8 minutes remove with hot water.
With eggshell
Combine 30 grams of cocoa powder with cream to form a thick mass. Add a teaspoon of eggshells crushed in a coffee grinder. Apply the resulting scrub, massaging your body. After 5 minutes, rinse off.
With semolina
Melt the chocolate bar in a water bath. Add one tablespoon each of semolina and brown sugar and remove from heat. As soon as the mass has cooled, apply it, additionally massaging problem areas. After 5 minutes, rinse with warm water.
With coffee and essential oil
Add a tablespoon of coffee grounds to 100 grams of chocolate melted in a water bath. Add a couple of milliliters of orange essential oil. Stir. Apply the composition in a circular motion and remove after 5 minutes.
Vegetables and fruits
You can prepare scrubs at home not only according to the recipes suggested above, but also using fruits and vegetables. Below we will present several proven methods.
With orange zest and almonds
Mix a tablespoon of chopped orange zest with 2 tablespoons of chopped almonds. Add a teaspoon of oily olive squeeze. Start scrubbing, just don’t forget to thoroughly steam the surface of the body first.
Cucumber
Grate 3 cucumbers. Add 4 tablespoons of ground coffee beans and the same amount of potato starch. Stir. Apply the mixture using massaging movements, then rinse off under a warm shower.
Carrot
Mix finely grated carrots and semolina in equal proportions. The mixture can be used daily for half a month, after which the frequency of procedures should be reduced to 2-3 times a week.
Apple
Cut a large green apple in half. Use one half as a body massager, then take the other half and continue the procedure. The effectiveness of the method is due to malic acid, which literally breaks down dead skin particles, cleanses pores, and promotes the removal of toxins.
With flour
Those with dry and sensitive skin should be especially careful when using homemade scrubs, as abrasive particles that are too harsh can damage the skin. In this case, a product based on flour and starch will be suitable.
Prepare flour and starch in equal proportions. Transfer to a piece of gauze and form into a ball. Spray with water from a spray bottle and lightly moisten with vegetable oil. Get to the point!
Recommendations for use
You don’t need to treat weight loss scrubs the same way as regular scrubs. They contain more active and aggressive substances, penetrate deeper, and their action is more extensive: not just cleaning and exfoliation, but launching cellular biochemical processes. Therefore, follow the recommendations for their use.
Do not use on the face. Apply exclusively to steamed skin, when the top layers are softened and the pores are maximally open. The optimal time for the procedure is in the late afternoon, after a shower or hot bath. It is often recommended to use it in a bath.
Apply with massage movements - circular, in the direction of lymph flow:
- from the feet to the buttocks - from bottom to top,
- treatment of the abdomen - strictly clockwise,
- from fingers to shoulder - from bottom to top,
- from the neck to the lower back - from top to bottom,
- from the armpits to the center of the chest.
The roll is applied using rubbing or patting movements.
Rubbing time is no less than 3 and no more than 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water in the shower. Cream formulations do not require rinsing. After this, rub the body until light pink with a towel. The final stage is applying the slimming cream.
Frequency of use if you have no more than 3-6 extra kg:
- for dry and sensitive skin - once a week,
- for normal - 2,
- for fatty – 3.
If any discomfort occurs (itching, hyperemia, rash, burning), you need to change the recipe.
A scrub is just an additional means for losing weight; it cannot cope with extra pounds alone. Therefore, it must be used in combination with proper nutrition, physical activity and procedures. The best products have proven themselves to be those containing: sea salt, coffee, sugar, hot pepper, oatmeal, candied honey, citrus fruits, baking soda, ethers.
Shelf life in the refrigerator is no more than 2 weeks.
Tips for those with different skin types:
- for dry - it is better to choose recipes with dairy products,
- for mature women - with oils (olive, jojoba, apricot, grape seed),
- for oily skin - with cosmetic clay, sea salt, baking soda, activated carbon,
- for sensitive ones - you need to test each composition on your wrist, do not massage the skin for more than 5 minutes.
Scrubbing is a fairly intense effect on the skin. Its improper use can lead to redness, irritation and even damage to the integrity of the skin. This is why you should not use homemade stone scrubs - crushed stones have sharp corners that scratch the skin and can cause inflammation.
For a weight loss scrub to give excellent results, follow simple rules for its use:
- You can scrub only damp skin that has been previously cleaned of cosmetics,
- The scrub should be applied in a thin layer, evenly distributed over the skin,
- scrubbing is performed with light circular movements, without strong pressure,
- When the skin becomes intensely pink, it’s time to complete the procedure - you shouldn’t scrub the body until it becomes very red.
After you wash off the scrub from your skin, you need to gently pat it dry with a towel (do not rub!) and apply a soothing or moisturizing cream.
Important! It is not recommended to use anti-cellulite warming cream immediately after a scrub - this can lead to severe skin irritation.
