During the period of conditional fasting, you need to drink a lot of liquid. Its main part is infusions or decoctions of herbs. The choice is made at the discretion of the individual. A naturopathic doctor allows any of these options in his program.

To prepare a decoction: take two tablespoons from several or one collection of herbs. Fill them with one liter of boiling water. Leave for 30 minutes. It is best to use an enamel pan, which can then be wrapped in a towel.

To prepare an infusion of herbs, you need to fill them with warm water (temperature approximately 35-38 degrees Celsius). Leave for 6-12 hours, or overnight.

A decoction or infusion is prepared for the whole day. This requires 3 liters. You can do the entire daily amount at once. But you shouldn’t stock up for several days - the herbal drink must be fresh.

Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey and freshly squeezed juice from a quarter of a lemon to one glass of decoction/infusion.

Fasting according to Marva Ohanyan - a detailed description of the method by day

The duration of conditional fasting ranges from 7 to 21 days. But it should be noted that 21 days is the average duration that people who are cleansing their body for the first time should adhere to. That is, it is assumed that a lot of waste and toxins have accumulated in the human body. If a person has previously resorted to various methods of cleansing and fasting, then he can shorten the period at his discretion.

Also, children do not need prolonged fasting. As a rule, their bodies are not so heavily polluted, and the child has more vital energy. Therefore, all cleansing processes occur many times faster. Sometimes it only takes 5 days.

If the body is heavily polluted, the fasting period can be increased.

The whole process is divided into three main stages:

  1. The beginning or entry into fasting lasts from one to three days.

At this stage, on the first day you can eat your last meal at 12 noon. In this case, the food should be light and easily digestible.

At 19:00 on the same day you need to take a laxative (you can use magnesium sulfate in powder). If the human body is heavily polluted, then you can take this drug three evenings in a row. But in any case, you can no longer eat. You can only drink herbal drinks with honey and lemon.

  1. The main stage of fasting lasts 7 days.

The next morning after the last (or only) laxative intake, you need to do an enema. During the day it is necessary to carry out three such procedures (all seven days).

At the second stage of fasting, a person drinks three liters of herbal infusion/decoction per day. You can also drink 2-3 glasses of grapefruit juice per day (instead of 2-3 glasses of herbal drink).

  1. Recovery from fasting lasts from 3 to 14 days.

You can reduce the number of enemas per day to one, and then do it only every other day. The frequency of enema use also depends on the degree of slagging in the body.

An infusion/decoction of herbs with honey and lemon can increasingly be alternated with freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices. Juices must be filtered so that no pulp gets in. This is necessary so that digestion does not begin.

You can make good combinations of fruits and vegetables for juices, for example:

1) lemon + orange + grapefruit;

2) carrots + apple + spinach;

3) beets + cucumber + parsley.

  • At 19-00, use a saline solution with a laxative effect, for which 50 g of Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) should be added to 200 ml of warm water. The solution is immediately washed down with a decoction of herbs, to which you can add lemon juice or honey (no more than 1 teaspoon per 250 ml).
  • You need to lie on your right side, put a warm heating pad to the right hypochondrium (anatomical location of the liver), do not put a pillow under your head. You need to lie in this position for 1 hour, during which you should drink at least 200 ml of herbal decoction, this should be done in small sips and without raising your head.
  • Before 21-00 you should drink at least 5 more glasses of broth, you should go to bed no later than the indicated time. This is important because it ensures the normalization of the body’s biological rhythm.
  • In the morning, from 5-00 to 7-00, you need to rinse the large intestine. For an enema, use 3 liters of warm water with the addition of soda and salt (regular food grade) in the same quantity - 1 tablespoon per designated volume. Immediately do 2-3 enemas in a row. Such morning washings are performed daily for a week or 10 days, which depends on the person’s well-being.


Cleansing enema
After the first cleansing enema is performed, nothing should be eaten. It is only allowed to drink various herbal decoctions with the addition of viburnum juice, lemon, cherry and other berries, depending on the season of the year.

Herbal tea is prepared from the following ingredients:

  • lemon balm and knotweed;
  • thyme and mint;
  • chamomile and sage;
  • oregano and calendula;
  • plantain and linden;
  • yarrow and valerian (root);
  • nettle and horsetail (field).


Herbal tea
All components are taken in equal quantities and mixed in a non-metallic container. Next, 2 level tablespoons of mixed plant material are poured with 1 liter of hot water (not boiling water, otherwise all the beneficial properties of the herbs will “evaporate”) and infused for half an hour in a thermos or other insulated container.

Drink 1 glass of ready-made herbal tea every hour; you should drink a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 12 glasses per day. You can add juice from sour berries or citrus fruits to the decoction; viburnum, lemon, and black currant are suitable.

The juice must be freshly prepared and not contain the peel or pulp of the product. It can be replaced with apple cider vinegar, but it must be natural and of high quality.

Ohanyan recommends combining the use of herbal tea with juices from pumpkin, carrots, beets, and unsweetened apples - the ingredients can be consumed as independent drinks or in combination with each other. If your health allows, then instead of vegetable juices it is better to drink orange, tangerine and grapefruit. Drinking regimen:

Cleansing enemas - benefits for the body

The technique involves daily cleansing of the intestines through the use of salt or herbal enemas. Herbal solution

While using the technique, you can alternate salt and herbal enemas. A solution using herbs is prepared on the basis of plants that help cleanse the body (chamomile, plantain, yarrow or celandine). To prepare 1 enema, you need to pour 1 tbsp. l. any herb 2 liters of boiling water, then strain the resulting solution, cool to an acceptable temperature and add 200 g of raw oil. Enema should be performed daily (3 enemas at once) throughout the entire period.

Saline solution

To prepare cleansing enemas, you need to heat 6 liters of water to a temperature of 38 degrees. Divide the prepared volume into three 2 liter portions, add 2 tsp to each of them. coarse salt (you can use sea salt) and 1 tsp. baking soda. The daily enema procedure consists of 3 two-liter enemas, which are given in turn as the bowels are emptied. This cleaning method should be used for the entire cleansing course.

How you feel when fasting

On the very first day, the general state of health may deteriorate, and the person will begin to worry about:

  • nausea and vomiting;
  • dizziness and headaches;
  • aches throughout the body and increased drowsiness.

This is a normal reaction of the body, which will become more pronounced every day. For example, purulent discharge from the nose, a cough with a large amount of sputum, and increased sweating with an unpleasant odor may appear.

Rules for exiting the Ohanyan diet

For the first 4 days after the cleansing, you can eat only soft fruits ; if you take hard ones, they should be pureed. In addition to them, drink 3 glasses of decoction and juice per day.

Until the 10th day, the menu is enriched with salads from fresh chopped vegetables (it is better to grate them on a coarse grater) - dill, tomatoes, onions, spinach, garlic, chopped or whipped into a single mass. The salad is dressed only with a small amount of lemon juice; no spices, including salt, are added. They also continue to drink the usual liquids, but their amount can be reduced to 2 glasses per day.

For the next 14 days, the diet is replenished with vegetables baked in the oven at low temperatures - pumpkin, tomatoes, zucchini, beets, which are prepared without spices, vegetable oil and other additions. The broth can be drunk, but not more than 250 ml per day, juices are consumed only in case of severe thirst, but fruits and salads from fresh vegetables must be present on the menu.

Only after 6 weeks (it’s better to endure8) after finishing the herbal diet, you can start introducing porridge cooked in water, vegetable and butter, sour cream, vegetable soups into the menu. The developer of the cleansing and weight loss method, Ohanyan, does not recommend eating milk and its derivatives, meat and fish, baked goods made from yeast dough, sugar and salt.

Such fasting should be carried out once every 3 months for 2 years in order to completely cleanse the body and raise its ability to fight disease to the maximum level.

Principles of proper nutrition

The properties of food must correspond to our physiology. Raw fruits, vegetables, sprouted grains, nuts, and food herbs are broken down with a minimum amount of enzymes. Digestion occurs naturally, without discomfort, bloating, heaviness, diarrhea or constipation. But it takes 100 times more enzymes to break down stewed or fried foods than raw foods.

By eating thermally processed food, we force the pancreas to work a hundred times more actively, causing it to wear out more and more every year. Boiled, fried, stewed food has no energy value, so to be full we need to eat large portions. This way we expose the digestive tract and pancreas to an unusual load. It’s not for nothing that they say: “We dig our own grave with a knife and fork.”

Digestive enzymes stop being produced after 18 hours. This is why all nutritionists prohibit having dinner after six : food eaten in the evening rots in the duodenum until 9 am, and during the day the mass goes further into the small intestine and colon, poisoning everything in its path.

The liver has to take on the released poisons and filter the blood. As a result, hepatocholecystitis, calculous cholecystitis, infectious jaundice, viral hepatitis and, as a result, cirrhosis of the liver occur. Treatment of the liver and pancreas can be lengthy and require lifestyle changes.

Meat products are not considered quality food. Why? Our digestive system is unable to process animal protein properly, causing it to rot. Only the short digestive tract of carnivores is designed to digest meat. In humans, the digestive system is much longer, protein is in them for almost 8 hours, and human food enzymes are not enough to break down meat products.

Foreign animal protein is a strong allergen. During its decay, toxic gases (ammonia, methane, hydrogen sulfide) and toxins (putrescine, cadaverine, ptomaines) are released. The liver is able to neutralize them only partially, as a result they accumulate and enter the blood, which leads to the occurrence of various diseases.

It is strictly forbidden to feed babies sweet semolina and rice milk porridge! It will be very useful to add sprouted grains of wheat, buckwheat, peas, flax seeds, and sunflowers to the dish. After lunch, wait 1.5 hours and you can drink any of the above drinks.
